Yeoksam Chinese restaurant: crab fried rice with jjajang sauce add-on

For a while now I've been craving fried rice with that smoky wok flavor so badly it's basically all I think about.

I was literally singing about it out loud until I finally gave in and ran straight to Jjamppong Jijon (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛

I already come here often when I'm craving Chinese food, but this time I went with a real plan in mind — Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch, my go-to Chinese restaurant near Yeoksam Station.

The moment the food arrived, that savory smoky aroma hit my nose and my mouth just watered. The rice grains were fluffy and loose, packed with plenty of crab meat for great texture.

And eating it together with menbosha (fried shrimp toast) — pure bliss!!

Even the plain fried rice alone had such a deep savory flavor that I couldn't help but be impressed. Mixed with a bit of the added jjajang sauce, it's the textbook definition of sweet-and-salty. The sauce seasoning was just right — never overwhelming, so I enjoyed it all the way to the last bite (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛

A sip of cold cider in between cut through the richness and felt so refreshing. The softness of the crab meat combined with that smoky wok flavor made every bite genuinely moving. I really had a satisfying meal, it's been a while.

After the meal, there's yuzu tea and plum tea as well as a coffee machine, so you can wrap things up perfectly with dessert — this place has it all.
