Yeongjae Susan is at C-10 on the first floor of the Garak Mall Sales Building, 932 Yangjae-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul. It is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00 and is easy to reach on foot from Exit 2 of Garak Market Station. Parking is also available at Garak Mall, and they say that if you reserve before visiting, you can get a quick takeaway order without waiting.

As soon as you come out of Exit 2 of Garak Market Station, there is the grand-looking Garak Mall Fish Market! 🌿 Go in through Entrance 6, head to the first floor, and find C-10—then today’s star, Yeongjae Susan, pops right up! If you are coming by bus, getting off at the “Family Town” stop lets you enter more quickly through the side entrance!

The tanks were incredibly clean, and there was such a wide variety to browse, from fresh sashimi fish to abalone, lobster, and king crab. It was so much fun just looking around 😆

Fixed-price menu and ordering the small Jeonggwang Chamhoe

When you go to a fish market, lots of people worry about having to ask the going price for every item or being overcharged, right? ✨ Yeongjae Susan is partnered with Mermaid Priest Pirate Crew, so prices are clearly displayed as fixed prices!

Prices for each sashimi variety are clearly listed by size—mini, small, medium, large, and special—so it is super easy to choose based on your group size! We ordered the small Jeonggwang Chamhoe set, a generous combination that lets you enjoy gizzard shad, large olive flounder, and red sea bream all at once 💖

What was included in the dedicated takeaway package?

As soon as we ordered, the owner prepared everything quickly and neatly, then packed it into a lovely dedicated shopping bag printed with the Yeongjae Susan logo 🥩 The package was so clean and tidy that I felt great the whole way home!

Inside the shopping bag were not only chojang (sweet-tangy red chili dipping sauce) and soy sauce, but also pickled ginger, fresh wasabi, garlic, ssamjang (savory soybean-chili paste), and radish sprouts—such a full set of sashimi accompaniments! When I unpacked it at home, the fish was still wonderfully fresh, which really impressed me 💯

How the gizzard shad, flounder, and sea bream tasted

Finally, the table was set and the home party officially began! 🦀💥 The Jeonggwang Chamhoe platter of gizzard shad, large olive flounder, and red sea bream looked like absolute art!

It had a clear white color and a wonderfully chewy, springy texture that clung to the palate! They even included the fin section, so the nutty richness was off the charts 🤤

Its red grain was still vivid, and the more I chewed, the more its rich, refined umami came through!

Gizzard shad

The glistening silver skin was so appealing, and every crisp bite burst with its distinct nutty flavor! It was fantastic with chojang, wasabi soy sauce, or wrapped with ssamjang 💕 Every thick, neatly sliced piece of sashimi was such excellent quality that I could not stop admiring it while I ate 😋
