Korean BBQ in Seohae: charcoal pork supper at Euljiro Yeontan Gui

In short

Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Seohae, Incheon, serving charcoal-grilled meat and seafood. Three of us ordered the pork geun (600 g pork platter) for a late-night meal, plus Samsuni bibimbap and doenjang-jjigae. Verdict: a great choice for charcoal-grilled pork late at night.

A place near Gajeong Station for charcoal-grilled meat and seafood

Today, I’m introducing Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch (을지로 연탄구이 루원시티점), where I went for meat in Luone City!

Visit to a Luone City Korean BBQ restaurant

The vibe is already insane from the outside..🥹

Euljiro-style restaurant exterior

Even before going in, the posters and entrance gave off that Euljiro vibe, haha.

Restaurant entrance with posters and doorway

There were quite a lot of tables, too! Even if you come as a group, it looks like you can just push tables together, haha.

Since this restaurant also serves seafood, there’s an aquarium outside as well ✨

Seafood tank in front of the restaurant

The interior was already an atmosphere winner.. ⭐️

Interior atmosphere at Euljiro Yeontan Gui

Especially, rather than a regular grill, you cook directly over charcoal briquettes, so the whole meat-eating mood was spot-on, haha.

Ordering from the menu and the basic spread

There are seriously so many menu options!

Variety of meat menu options

Overall, the prices were quite affordable, so this was a place where you can have meat at amazing value even in this high-cost-of-living era 💶

Look at the handwritten menu board with that Euljiro vibe, too, haha.

There are seasonal dishes, too, and this season they had grilled king prawns with salt! They said steamed and grilled oysters are sold in winter, so I’m planning another visit then 💗

What we ordered

  • Pork geun (600 g pork platter) ₩38,000
  • Samsuni bibimbap ₩4,900
  • Doenjang-jjigae ₩2,500
  • Steamed rice ₩1,000

The basic spread and bean sprout soup

They bring ssam vegetables, pickled onions, ssamjang, and salt. You also get sesame-oil-coated bean sprouts, kimchi, and garlic to grill straight over the charcoal.

Basic sides for grilling over charcoal

The complimentary bean sprout soup! (This is seriously crazy.. spicy, hearty, and refreshing all at once!!)

Spicy complimentary bean sprout soup

And there was shredded radish salad, a 💗key point💗 that tastes so good with meat.

Extra sides from the self-service bar

Personally, I love Korean BBQ places with a self-service bar, and I loved this one even more because it had absolutely everything ready..💗

Self-service bar stocked with meat sides

You can tell the self-service bar has loads of things at a glance, right~? Haha. Naturally, all the basic sides from earlier were there, plus pineapple! If you like grilling pineapple, I highly recommend it..😋

There were also extra pickled onions, pickled radish wraps, and Cheongyang chili peppers! (Careful, Cheongyang peppers are hot 🌶️🌶️🌶️)

What I liked most was that scissors and tongs were available, so one person didn’t have to do all the grilling, haha.

They say people who eat meat with wasabi know what they’re doing, right? Yep, I’m one of those people. And Euljiro Yeontan Gui is run by people who know! (Wasabi is an absolutely perfect match with meat 💚)

And the best thing!! They have myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce), everyone! Chop Cheongyang peppers finely into it and dip your meat in—you know what I mean, right~? There’s soybean powder for pork skin, too, haha.

The pork geun we ordered for a late-night meal for three

Pork geun with pork belly, pork neck, and more

The three of us came for a late-night meat meal! So we ordered the pork geun!

The pork geun includes samgyeopsal (pork belly), pork neck, dwit-gogi (rear pork cuts), hangjeong (pork jowl), galmaegi (pork skirt meat), and pork skin, so I recommend it if you can’t decide what to eat, haha.

Pork geun platter and side dishes

Before we ate, the whole spread was set out so beautifully~~

Pork placed over charcoal briquettes

Time to get it right onto the charcoal grill~~

The charcoal is concentrated in the middle, so things cook best there—pile the meat toward the center as you grill! You can see it’s cooked just right, yeah~?

My unbeatable combo: myeoljeot + meat + Cheongyang pepper! If you like this combination, I really recommend giving it a deep dip! I dipped the meat deeply in myeoljeot and topped it with wasabi~ The pork neck was so plump, too. We also grilled and ate the dwit-gogi and pork jowl!

Grilled meat paired with shredded radish salad

It’s seriously delicious with the shredded radish salad from the basic sides..😋 It mixes with all the meat juices and it’s just..soooo good, haha.

Whole king oyster mushroom side

You also get one huge whole king oyster mushroom. Don’t cut it—let it cook well, then bite into it lengthwise like this, and it tastes like meat, too!

Doenjang-jjigae and Samsuni bibimbap alongside the meat

Doenjang-jjigae

Doenjang-jjigae ordered with meat

I love having kimchi-jjigae or doenjang-jjigae with meat, but it wasn’t included, so we ordered it!

Doenjang-jjigae with tofu and vegetables

Exactly that Korean BBQ restaurant doenjang-jjigae taste..😋 It was packed with tofu and vegetables, so delicious, haha.

Samsuni bibimbap

Wow.. everyone, I actively recommend this bibimbap. What was unusual was that it contains miyeok julgi (seaweed stems)! All three of us absolutely love seaweed stems, so of course we loved it! (If you don’t like seaweed stems, there’s an option to leave them out when ordering!)

We ate it with the meat, and it was so, so, so delicious.. that the three of us finished one Samsuni bibimbap and ordered another one, hahaha.

Samsuni bibimbap served with meat

Mixed together, it wasn’t salty at all, each vegetable’s flavor came through just right, and it was so, so good that I couldn’t believe this was ₩4,900..💗

Samsuni bibimbap mixed with vegetables

Pork skin and soybean powder to finish

Lastly, we grilled the pork skin! Pork skin is included in the pork geun ✨

I like cutting pork skin into long vertical strips and eating it like chewy candy, and since the charcoal cooks meat so well, the pork skin cooks quickly too, haha.

Pork skin dipped in soybean powder

Dipped in the soybean powder from the self-service bar, it was salty, chewy, and sooo delicious..🥹 I wasn’t craving seafood that day, so I didn’t get to have it too, but almost everyone around us was adding seafood! Next time, I’m definitely ordering seafood as well..🍤

Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch was a great place to visit whenever you’re craving meat! It’s great for grilling directly over charcoal, you can eat seafood alongside it, and it stays open until dawn, making it perfect for a late-night meal!
