Cheonho Rodeo Street hair salon, monthly root touch-up: Juno Hair

In short

Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo is a hair salon on Cheonho Rodeo Street in Gangdong, Seoul, spread over the 1st and 2nd floors. Because bright hair needs a root touch-up once or twice a month, the writer had designer Yeondu do the roots at Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo, and she blended the new color naturally into the existing bright tone and applied a scalp protector first, so it never stung. After a year in Cheonho, this is the salon worth settling into.

I have bright-colored hair, so even a little bit of root growth shows up fast — I really need a root touch-up once or twice a month.

Bright-colored hair before the root touch-up

After moving near Cheonho, I hadn't found a Cheonho-dong hair salon I liked, so I tried a few different places. This time I got a root touch-up from designer Yeondu at Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo, and I finally feel like I found somewhere to settle down.

Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo is on Cheonho Rodeo Street, so it was easy to get to by public transit. It's a great spot to drop by after running errands near Cheonho Station, which makes it a solid option for anyone looking for an accessible hair salon in Cheonho-dong. It's open until 9pm on weekdays, so there's plenty of time to visit after work!

Inside Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo: a private space across two floors

The Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo store is split across the 1st and 2nd floors. Maybe because of the split floors, it felt less crowded than I expected and a bit more private.

Quiet 2nd-floor seating area for services

I got my service on the 2nd floor, and since there was hardly anyone there, I could get my root touch-up done at a relaxed pace. Coloring always involves some waiting time, so a busy atmosphere around you can be a little stressful — but the quiet mood here let me wait comfortably.

Root touch-up on bright hair, blended into the existing color

Grown-out dark roots against bright existing color

Since my hair color is on the bright side, any gap between newly grown dark roots and the existing color really stands out fast. So the thing I care about most with a root touch-up is how naturally it blends with the existing hair. Designer Yeondu at Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo carefully checked my current hair color first and matched it so the color wouldn't clash.

Root touch-up underway after applying scalp protector

Coloring into a bright shade can sometimes leave your scalp stinging or burning, right? This time she applied a scalp protector thoroughly before coloring, so even doing a root touch-up into a bright tone didn't sting much and I could relax through it.

The shampoo after coloring was thorough too. In particular, she gave me a scalp massage while shampooing, and it felt surprisingly refreshing. It wasn't just a few light presses — she really worked through every corner of my scalp, so I felt like I'd gone in for a root touch-up and come out having gotten a bit of scalp care too.

Why Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo is the Cheonho-dong salon to settle into

After moving near Cheonho, I tried a few places looking for a Cheonho-dong hair salon that's good with root touch-ups, but there weren't many good ones — and I think I've finally found it!! Root touch-ups need to happen regularly, so finding a place that's right for you is the hardest part, and it took me a year.. and it's designer Yeondu at Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo... ෆ̈

I loved how the root touch-up blended naturally with my bright existing color, and the whole process — from scalp protection to shampoo to massage — was thorough. Above all, designer Yeondu at Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo was kind and made it a comfortable experience, which I really appreciated.
