Cheonho Rodeo Street hair salon, monthly root touch-up: Juno Hair

I have bright-colored hair, so even a little bit of root growth shows up fast — I really need a root touch-up once or twice a month.

Inside Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo: a private space across two floors

The Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo store is split across the 1st and 2nd floors. Maybe because of the split floors, it felt less crowded than I expected and a bit more private.

I got my service on the 2nd floor, and since there was hardly anyone there, I could get my root touch-up done at a relaxed pace. Coloring always involves some waiting time, so a busy atmosphere around you can be a little stressful — but the quiet mood here let me wait comfortably.

Root touch-up on bright hair, blended into the existing color

Since my hair color is on the bright side, any gap between newly grown dark roots and the existing color really stands out fast. So the thing I care about most with a root touch-up is how naturally it blends with the existing hair. Designer Yeondu at Juno Hair Cheonho Rodeo carefully checked my current hair color first and matched it so the color wouldn't clash.

Coloring into a bright shade can sometimes leave your scalp stinging or burning, right? This time she applied a scalp protector thoroughly before coloring, so even doing a root touch-up into a bright tone didn't sting much and I could relax through it.

Shampoo and scalp massage after the root color

The shampoo after coloring was thorough too. In particular, she gave me a scalp massage while shampooing, and it felt surprisingly refreshing. It wasn't just a few light presses — she really worked through every corner of my scalp, so I felt like I'd gone in for a root touch-up and come out having gotten a bit of scalp care too.
