I've got thick, stubbornly straight lashes and had been getting lash lifts regularly. But after lens implant surgery in April, I got nervous about any treatment near my eyes, so my lashes went neglected for a while. I couldn't put it off any longer, though! After checking with the eye clinic where I had my surgery and getting the okay for a lash lift, I headed to Iyo Shop, known for doing lash lifts well near Gongdeok Station.

How to book Iyo Shop and what the lash menu costs

Iyo Shop is run by a single owner, so it operates on a 100% reservation-only basis. That means the same person handles the design consultation, the treatment, and the finishing touches — which actually made me trust the place more!

You can book through Naver Booking or the Kakao Channel. With Naver Booking, your reservation is confirmed as soon as you pay the deposit, which makes the whole process really convenient.

This time, I went with the nutrition + black tinting lash lift for 50,000 won.

Walking to Iyo Shop from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station

Come out of Exit 3 at Gongdeok Station and walk straight ahead — you'll get there in no time. If you're driving, the building offers 2 hours of free parking, so it looked like a great option for visiting before or after work with your car.

I have zero sense of direction, so I always get a little nervous the first time I visit a place inside a commercial building. But once I got inside and took the elevator up, the shop's location was so clearly marked that I didn't get lost at all.

When I got to the shop's entrance, the white-toned interior immediately caught my eye.

Once you open the door and step in, you change into indoor slippers and can hang your belongings and outerwear on a rack provided.

Droopy outer corners: the consultation and the nutrition + black tinting lift

The owner at Iyo Shop first carefully checked the condition of my lashes and asked in detail if there was a specific lift shape I wanted. In my case, when the curl goes up too sharply, mascara sometimes ends up smudging onto my eyelids — ugh — so I mentioned that issue. I also told her my outer corners droop a bit, and that the lashes near my outer corners in particular were sagging, which was my main concern.

Just from hearing that much, the owner immediately understood exactly what I needed and recommended a customized curl! I'd never tried black tinting before, and since it seemed like it would give a much more defined look than a regular lash lift, I decided to try it for the first time this visit. Plus, since it included a nutrition treatment, she was able to minimize lash damage while doing the lift.

The treatment took about an hour, but the atmosphere was so relaxing that the long time didn't feel like anything — I fell asleep the moment I laid my head down, haha. I got a good nap and woke up to find it all finished, lol. Since this was my first lash lift after the lens implant surgery, I was worried it might irritate my eyeballs, but the owner's hands were so delicate that I had zero eye stinging, zero pressure around my eyes, and no discomfort from my eyelids being over-lifted or anything. It was the best... 👍

Before

No matter how I look at it, my lashes had been drooping and neglected for who-knows-how-many months... geez, no fun at all. They're thick and long but completely straight, so I'd curl them with mascara every morning only for it to fall flat within a few hours.

I snapped a few photos on the way to the appointment, and my lashes were so droopy that my whole look felt heavy and kind of blank.

After

A video I took right after the treatment finished. The curl is so pretty!!!!! Honestly, after staring at my frustrating flat lashes for so long, getting them lifted felt like a decade-long knot finally coming undone.

It's wild how much a single lash lift can change your whole look — everyone, please get a lash lift! The curl is exactly the vibe I wanted, and with the black tinting, everything looks even more defined, which I love.

Aftercare: makeup, washing and keeping the curl

The owner at Iyo Shop told me it's best to wait at least 5 hours after the treatment before putting on makeup. (And if possible, waiting even longer than 5 hours is even better!)
