Thick pork belly moduem near Eungam Station: Yukjjip, Eunpyeong
In short
Yukjjip is a Korean BBQ restaurant on Bulgwangcheon-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul, two minutes from Eungam Station Exit 4. The moduem (assorted grilled meat set) comes in thick cuts of pork belly, mushrooms, garlic scapes, and eggplant that staff grill for you, and the writer also ordered extra pork belly and doenjang-mari-bap (rice rolled in fermented soybean paste soup). It's an easy pick for anyone unsure about grilling their own meat, and the drink promotions make it a cheap night out too.

Two minutes from Eungam Station Exit 4, on the Bulgwangcheon walking path

Yukjjip's main branch is just two minutes from Eungam Station Exit 4, so the location is great, and it's also a nice stop after a walk along the Bulgwangcheon stream!
Two floors, and the interior atmosphere

Yukjjip has two floors! It's a Korean BBQ spot known for grilling thick cuts of meat right at your table, and it's clearly super popular!!
The menu — from moduem sets to single cuts and sides

Yukjjip has everything from moduem sets to individual cuts and various sides, so there was plenty to choose from — I loved that!!
Moduem 800g, moduem 600g, signature pork neck, whole pork belly, gabrisal, skirt meat, dolminari, house-made pork skin
Hearty meal set, doenjang jjigae, doenjang-mari-bap, yeonsundubu jjigae, kimchi jjigae, yeolmu bibim guksu, yeolmu mul guksu, yeolmu bibimbap, wasabi meat rice ball, three-flavor sausage, rice, grilled vegetables
Side dishes and the special sauce
Yukjjip also had a nice variety of side dishes to go with the meat. From lettuce wraps to several kinds of kimchi, plus Yukjjip's own special sauce!

The moduem set — just how thick is the meat?
Wow... the meat at Yukjjip was seriously thick! As someone who's all about thick-cut meat, I was so moved. I'm really glad I ordered the moduem set! And it wasn't just the meat — mushrooms, garlic scapes, and eggplant too!

Staff-grilled pork belly — the ultimate in convenience
Yukjjip near Eungam Station is the ultimate in convenience since they grill the meat for you — isn't that just great~?!
I'm not great at grilling meat myself, so a place where they do the grilling for you was even more of a plus!!

Whoa... so thick!!

You've got to make the first bite of any dish really count, so I piled a lettuce leaf high with Yukjjip's meat and all the fixings and went for it in one bite!!!

The eggplant was also grilled nice and golden, and dipping it deep into Yukjjip's special sauce made it spicy and so, so good!

Extra pork belly, and the doenjang-mari-bap
I got completely hooked on the staff-grilled meat and ordered extra pork belly! The extra order came out just as generously thick and well-grilled as the first!
I was curious about the doenjang-mari-bap too, so I ordered it! Yukjjip's version had a cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste) feel to it. I usually love that style of jjigae, so I topped it with some spicy kimchi and ate every bit of it.
Yukjjip also runs drink promotions, so the alcohol is really cheap! If you're looking for a place near Eungam Station with cheap drinks and meat, go to Yukjjip without a second thought — the drinks are seriously that cheap!!
Overall thoughts & tips
- Yukjjip runs drink promotions, so alcohol prices are incredibly cheap! Highly recommend it for a day when you want a bite of meat with a drink.
- There's a coupon you can use if you visit after making a reservation through Naver — worth using when you go!!
