I'm a traveling word-of-mouth blogger. This time I finally took a real one-night domestic trip! We went on a family trip to Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon!

Since we left in the morning, I started getting hungry and wanted a cup of coffee, haha. So before heading to Vivaldi Park, we made a light stop at Gil151 Hanok Cafe :)
I found it while searching for cafe recommendations in Hongcheon, Gangwon, and the moment we arrived, the sheer size was insane..!

We were just going to grab coffee and bread and leave, but it was so pretty we ended up looking around properly, haha.
Gil151 Hanok Cafe, Gangwon Hongcheon Main Branch — how big is it?
They say it's the biggest hanok café in Korea, so I was curious just how big that would be.

Seeing it in person, the view of the hanok blending with nature was so, so good..!
On the wide grounds there's the main hanok building plus space to stroll around, so it didn't feel like just a café visit. Totally different feeling from a city café! Quiet but not stuffy, with that warm hanok atmosphere I loved :)
Coming to a place like this right at the start of the trip already made it feel like a real getaway~ haha.
From families to groups — what's the seating like?
Given the scale, there was a wide variety of seating too!

There's indoor seating,

and plenty of outdoor seating too, where you can relax outside.
It seemed great for family visits, and lots of groups seemed to come too.

I liked how wide the choices were — from private-feeling seats to spots comfortable for families to hang out. Great for a date, but honestly it's just as good for a family trip with your parents~!
Big free parking lot makes driving easy
Parking is kind of a big deal when traveling, right? Here they have a large private free parking lot, so it was easy to visit by car!

On a family trip there's usually a lot of luggage and several people moving together, so not having to worry about parking was great, haha.
If you're deciding where to stop for coffee on the way to Vivaldi Park or Ocean World, this is worth adding to your route :)
Bakery that filled our morning hunger — the sausage bread is no joke

Having left in the morning, we were hungry, so a café with bread was even more welcome, haha.

We picked three: sausage bread, tissue bread, and blueberry bread!

Most of the breads are pastry-based, and as a pastry lover I genuinely enjoyed every bite, haha. Especially the sausage bread!!!! It was seriously so good it surprised me...
We went in planning to eat light and walked out having thoroughly demolished the bread too, haha.

If bakery quality matters to you when searching for cafe recommendations in Hongcheon, Gangwon, I think you'll like this place even more!
Coffee and drink menu — bean selection available
Even if the bread is great, it's a bit of a letdown if the coffee isn't, right?

But the coffee here was good too :) I especially liked that you could choose beans to your taste!

Besides coffee, the menu was varied too — freshly brewed ssanghwa-cha (herbal tea) loaded with toppings, affogato made after long chilling, cream lattes and more.

There were also desserts like handmade hwagwa, yanggaeng, and cake, so there were quite a lot of food options. If you're leaving early in the morning and getting hungry, stopping here for bread and coffee is a good call!
A café to remember on the day you head to Vivaldi Park

We stopped in for a coffee, ended up exploring the space, eating great bread, and had a proper rest, haha. The hanok atmosphere was nice, but sitting leisurely surrounded by nature was what I liked especially :)
It's good for a date, and with all that space it's comfortable for family gatherings or groups too. Naver Reservation is available, so if you're going as a group, booking ahead is a good idea!
If you're looking for cafe recommendations in Hongcheon, Gangwon near Vivaldi Park or Ocean World, I'd say take your time and stop by Gil151. The coffee and bread were both great, and the view was pretty too, so it was a satisfying first stop on our family trip ❤️
We just stopped in for a quick coffee, but from the hanok view to the bread, we were so satisfied :) The sausage bread especially still crosses my mind — I want it again next time, haha.

A good place to stop and take a breather on your way to Vivaldi Park or Ocean World! Worth adding to your travel route like we did ❤️

If you write a Naver receipt review, you can also get Dutch coffee concentrate as a gift, so it's worth participating!
