Gangnam restaurant for solo dining with Aligot cheese steak: Brivit

Hello, this is your all-purpose solo diner. I was looking for somewhere to eat alone around 4pm and found a Western restaurant near Sinnonhyeon Station with no break time and pretty interior! This is my solo dining review of Brivit Gangnam Station, where I got to enjoy delicious food in what felt like a tiny European village.

Brivit Gangnam Station is located near Sinnonhyeon Station. It's a 5-minute walk from Exit 6, so access was really good. The colorful, cute exterior caught my eye right away.

Full house at 4pm on a weekday: is solo dining awkward at Brivit?

I really loved that Brivit Gangnam Station runs with no break time! Even though I visited at the odd hour of 4pm on a weekday, the place was packed. It's mostly 2-4 person tables, plus plenty of terrace and counter seats, so it seemed great for both dates and solo dining. There were other people eating alone besides me, so I didn't feel too self-conscious.

I managed to snag the last window seat. The building across the street was so pretty that I felt like I was in Europe! I couldn't take photos since it was crowded, but inside there's also a terrace-style seating area with a greenhouse feel and strong air conditioning.

You order by ringing a little bell, which was also really cute. From the napkins to the tableware, wet wipes, and menu — every detail felt thoughtfully designed, so I'd recommend it for a blind date or small gathering too.

Brivit Steak, 37,800 won: the Aligot cheese pour at the table

I came because I heard the pasta was good, but the steak at the very front of the menu had such an aggressive visual!!! They said they do a cheese waterfall show, and since I'm a total cheese addict, there was no way I wasn't trying it — so I ordered the Brivit Steak. I also got an Earl Grey highball to go with it.

Brivit Steak (₩37,800). They pour French Aligot cheese over a flap steak, and the performance is absolutely insane. I was worried it might be too much for a solo meal, but I don't regret it one bit.

It's a hearty one-plate meal that comes with meat, various vegetables, and Yorkshire pudding!! If you order it as a 2-person set with pasta, you can enjoy it at a slightly discounted price. Highly recommend for dates or blind dates.

It's sous vide style, so it was incredibly tender — soft enough to cut with just your teeth. The meat was moist and delicious, and it paired really well with the red wine-based sauce.

When the red wine sauce felt a bit strong, pairing it with the grilled vegetables was just right. There were plenty of vegetables too, so I could enjoy it deliciously from start to finish!! The cream sauce seemed meant for the pudding, but since I wanted a softer bite, I dipped the steak in it here and there too.

What does the Yorkshire pudding with the Brivit Steak taste like?

Yorkshire pudding is apparently a British bread pudding made with eggs and milk. It had a soft, smooth texture, and it went better with the accompanying cream sauce than eaten on its own. Since it's not a common dish, it made me feel even more like I was in Europe!

Earl Grey highball, 8,900 won: a daytime drink at Brivit Gangnam

Earl Grey Highball (₩8,900). It was still broad daylight, but since I'm a semi-alcoholic, I ordered a highball instead of an ade. This isn't even a bar, so I didn't expect much, but it turned out to be way less sweet than expected and really delicious!! The refreshing quality cut through the richness so well that I wanted another glass.

The tangy steak and the crisp highball went really well together. The openness of the window seat and the lush plant views from the inner terrace seats seemed to make the mood even better. If you're looking for a good-vibe pasta restaurant near Gangnam Station, I recommend this place!
