In short
Momiji Seolleung Branch is a Japanese izakaya in Gangnam, Seoul, a five-minute walk from Seolleung Station Exit 1, where every seat is a private room with a door that closes. In ROOM 04 the meal was shiromi goroawada, or whitefish sashimi with sea cucumber innards (32,000 won), Sichuan-style karaage (24,000 won) and a Chinese-style seafood champon nabe (28,000 won) with Hallasan soju, and the hot pot was finished with noodles. Looking for a private, polished izakaya near Seolleung Station? Every seat here is a closed room, so it's really great for conversation.

Hi, this is Fig Noir! ✨ Today I'm writing about Momiji, a room-style Japanese restaurant in Seolleung where you can enjoy upscale Japanese cuisine. 🍺
Where is Momiji Seolleung, and what are the hours and parking?
Momiji Seolleung Branch is at 43 Samseong-ro 85-gil, 3rd floor unit 1, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, 461m from Seolleung Station Exit 1. Hours are Mon–Sat 11:20–24:00 (break time 14:00–17:00, last order 13:00 and 23:00), closed every Sunday. Parking in the building is limited, so the nearby Seonjeongneung public parking lot is recommended.

It's about a 5-minute walk from Seolleung Station Exit 1 or 2, on the 3rd floor of the building. Easy to find with Naver Map or the KakaoT app.

Take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and you're right at the entrance. Even the hallway had a clean impression, decorated with wood-tone dividers and the logo.

Every seat a private room: inside ROOM 04
At Momiji Seolleung Branch, every seat is a private room that can be closed off.

There are also larger rooms with windows, which would be great for a group dinner.

We were shown to ROOM 04. Plenty of space, cozy lighting, and perfect for talking comfortably without worrying about noise around us. 🤫

Evenings tend to fill up with dinner and group reservations, so I'd recommend booking ahead if you want a good room.
Once seated, they set out three basic side dishes, plates, and the menu.

What we ordered at Momiji Seolleung and what it cost
The menu had a wide range, from sashimi to fried dishes to nabe (hot pot).

If you swipe through to the end you'll see the full menu. Everything looked delicious, so after much deliberation, here's what I ordered:
- Whitefish sashimi with sea cucumber innards (shiromi korowada) ₩32,000
- Sichuan-style karaage ₩24,000
- Chinese-style seafood champon nabe ₩28,000
- Hallasan soju ₩8,000
Shiromi goroawada: the whitefish sashimi to order at Momiji

The table filled up with fresh whitefish sashimi, seafood champon nabe, and karaage, all at once.

Clinking cold glasses of Hallasan to kick things off 🥂

The shiromi korowada is thinly sliced whitefish sashimi served together with sea cucumber innards.

Dip the sashimi in the konowata (sea cucumber innards) sauce and pick it up with chopsticks — a deep, savory flavor spreads through. It's definitely different from regular flounder sashimi, with the added richness of the sea cucumber sauce.
The fin part had a nice chewy texture too, fun to bite into.

Wrapping the sashimi with radish sprouts and wasabi in crispy seaweed makes it even better. 😋

Chinese-style seafood champon nabe, finished with noodles
The Chinese-style seafood champon nabe arrived in a clay pot piled high with bean sprouts. They told us we could eat it as soon as the sprouts wilted down.

Once the broth started bubbling, plump pre-cooked shrimp, mussels, squid, and even webfoot octopus kept appearing — an endless blessing of seafood haha. The ladle got heavy from how packed it was with seafood and vegetables.

I put some webfoot octopus, shrimp, and mushrooms on my small plate and took a sip of the broth. 🍲 Spicy and rich — exactly my taste. Perfect as a soju side dish.

Near the end, we added champon noodles to the pot, and the chewy noodles soaked up the broth so well. You could tell they know how to make a good nabe, which made me curious about Momiji's other nabe dishes too.

What does the Sichuan-style karaage taste like?
The Sichuan-style karaage came with crispy chicken, spicy seasoning, and a crunchy vegetable salad. Topped with a bit of onion and scallion, it felt clean without being greasy. 🍗 The onion tasted almost like pineapple? Sweet and tangy, and I devoured it along with the sauce. 😋
There were still some side dishes left...

...and then they were gone. It was that good, Momiji Seolleung Branch... haha.
Momiji Seolleung Branch was a great place among Seolleung izakayas to calmly enjoy high-quality food and drinks in a clean, private room. Felt like a date-night vibe again after a while. 👍👍
