At Hi Gelato, the gelato master hand-produces different flavors in small batches every day, so the lineup can change day to day! On the day Bonnie visited, there were 9 flavors🍨

Ordering a 5,000-won small cup and a 6,500-won large cup

What we ordered at Hi Gelato was a small cup for ₩5,000 and a large cup for ₩6,500. There's a gelato master's certificate on the wall too, which raised my expectations for the flavor💘

The two cups we ordered came out🍨 They gave it to us on a tray, and you can take the whole tray or just carry the cups yourself, either is fine

On top of what we ordered, they added an extra spoonful of a taste each, so we ended up trying five flavors total😘

Small cup: gourmet butter brown cheese with a soft tofu taste

First, the small cup mom ordered! Gourmet butter brown cheese with a soft tofu taste on top✨️ Only mom ate the soft tofu taste sample so Bonnie doesn't know the flavor well, but she gave the honest description of 'tastes like soft tofu' haha🤣

The gourmet butter brown cheese, drizzled with caramel, had bits of brown cheese studded throughout — sweet! I was hot and tired, and it really recharged my sugar levels😲 Of the five flavors I tried, this was the sweetest

Large cup: corn supernova and riso with a Valrhona chocolate taste

The large cup Bonnie chose! Corn supernova and riso. For the taste sample I picked Valrhona chocolate, and out of the three flavors, Valrhona chocolate suited my taste best🫶 Chocolate really never fails! Invincible chocolate🍫

Personally I think riso is the fundamental gelato flavor! The riso, with bits of rice grain you could bite into, was a bit sweeter than I expected🤔 The texture was closer to a gelato you'd generally know. Corn supernova had a texture that spread more smoothly and softly than riso, with a sweet corn flavor🌽

Does Hi Gelato have seats to sit and rest?

Hi Gelato's shop is small, but since there's space to sit and eat, it was a better rest spot than the gelato shops inside Jungang Market🤗

On your way out, you can toss your finished gelato cup and spoon right into this trash can

What I thought of Hi Gelato overall

It seems cleaner, hygiene-wise, than the gelato shops inside the market too! Since the gelato master makes handmade Italian-style gelato fresh every day, it tastes even better, and having seats to sit and eat made it a good place to rest our tired bodies🥰

• Those staying near Gangneung Station — suddenly craving ice cream before bed?! Then instead of the '31' you can get anywhere, try handmade gelato made by a gelato master!!
