Cheonan bakery café corn bread and red bean bread: Steel Green Bakery

I was looking for a big café near Cheonan and found Steel Green Bakery. The name alone — bakery café — makes you think the bread must be good, right? Haha. We'd already eaten so we weren't super hungry, but I heard Steel Green's bread was delicious so we went to check it out. If we're eating, might as well eat something good, we said, haha.

True to a big café, this place has a huge four-story building and a spacious parking lot too. Here's my review of Steel Green Bakery Café.

Where is Steel Green Bakery, and how are parking and hours?

Steel Green Bakery is open from 10am to 9pm, with last order at 8:30pm — good to know if you're planning a visit! And there's a big parking lot right in front, so no worries about parking. Being a big café, the lot is big too.

And do you see that sky staircase in the distance...? Can you tell the floor of the staircase is see-through, letting you see the sky underneath...? Hahaha, wild! I had no idea the floor was completely transparent until I climbed up later. Fair warning, it's a little scary! That fully transparent sky staircase — we'll climb it later.

Garden mood from the entrance: the exterior of Steel Green Bakery

Usually I focus on the interior of a café, but at Steel Green you could tell they put real care into the entrance too. There's a fountain, and even a glass bridge here too, haha. So many flowers and plants, all well-maintained — the whole entrance was full of garden vibes and really pretty.

There's an outdoor terrace too, and the garden is genuinely well kept. On a nice day it looks lush and green, and even though it's outdoors, everything's kept tidy. It was a bit warm at lunchtime when I went, but I think it'd be perfect with the current weather. With the nice weather lately I want to go sit on an outdoor terrace again — I should visit once more before it gets really cold.

Not sure what kind of plant this is, but the colors were stunning. You could tell even the potted plants scattered around were well cared for.

Big-café Steel Green has four floors total. 1F is order and pickup, 2F is the indoor garden, 3F is group seating/meeting space, and 4F is the rooftop garden and Stairway to Heaven. There's an elevator too, so we moved around comfortably and saw it all.

Being a bakery café, there's a wide variety of bread, and they even run a closing sale with discounts after 6pm. The bread is delicious too, so if you're a bread lover, coming in the evening lets you buy it cheaper.

True to a Cheonan bakery café, there was a wide range of bread and it all looked delicious. There's too much I want to eat!!

Best-seller recommendations.

At times like this you have to check the best-seller list. Fruit mochi sando! I really wanted to try this. But it was sold out when we went, ugh. I'll definitely try it next time. So the best-seller we ended up picking was the cheese olive ciabatta, hahaha. A lot of the other breads looked delicious too, so we picked up a few.

On one side of the 1st floor there's a space where you can warm up the bread you ordered. Don't put the whole plate in — just the bread — and you get a much warmer, tastier result.

There were three of us, so each person picked one drink and one bread. Originally we planned on just one bread total, but the moment we saw the bread we all wanted too much, so we compromised on one each, haha.

The garden was so well kept that even the view from the 1st floor was great. True to the name Steel Green, it's green wherever you look, so I'd fully recommend it as a healing spot among big Cheonan cafés.

Stir it well before drinking!

This is the Green Berry Sepuner, one of Steel Green's signature drinks — my boyfriend's pick since he likes matcha!! The combination with sweet berries is a fresh one, and it was so good he downed it in one go, haha.

Hahaha, warming the bread a little made the aroma even stronger and made everything look even more delicious.

The red bean bread had really good red bean filling. This was also my boyfriend's pick — at first I said, there are so many kinds of bread here, why pick red bean bread?! But surprisingly it was his number one!!! Solid basics and delicious. The red bean itself was just really good.

The ciabatta was soft and fluffy and delicious. The olive and cheese aroma spread subtly through it! Chewy and fluffy, and again, really solid, delicious basics. Everything we ordered that day was great, so I'd recommend it. True to a Cheonan bakery café, this place really is a bread spot worth visiting. Highly recommended for bread lovers.

First floor: the counter area and the outdoor terrace

Steel Green has four floors total, plus a rooftop above the 3rd floor. Let's go take a look.

First, the 1st floor has the bakery and drink counter together with the outdoor terrace. As I said, the garden is really pretty, so I highly recommend the outdoor terrace in this current weather. There are lots of windows so you get a great view outside without feeling boxed in — really nice atmosphere.

Steel Green has an elevator, so getting up to the 4th floor was easy.

Second floor: the indoor garden and a table for 10

The 2nd floor also has a lush, well-arranged garden. Great for photos, and the café wasn't loud, so it was nice for chatting.

On the 2nd floor there's also group seating for 10 or more people. Great for coming with a large group, and it'd make a really good meeting spot in Cheonan.

Third floor: group seating and a beam projector

The 3rd floor also has group seating, but there were customers there so I couldn't get a photo — here's the overall vibe of the 3rd floor though.

Being on the 3rd floor, the view was great, and again, the big windows made it feel open and really relaxing.

There's even a small stage and a projector here, so it looks like a great spot for events or meetings too.

The 3rd floor also has plants scattered throughout, lush and well cared for.

Fourth floor rooftop and the Stairway to Heaven with a glass floor

On the 4th floor there's a cute turtle ship, haha. Wow, the view was great and, maybe because of the nice weather, it all looked so pretty. This really feels like a great café for a bit of healing.

This rocking chair was seriously comfortable — I sat down for a moment and just wanted to fall asleep right there, haha. With the nice weather and the great view, now would be a perfect time to visit.

And finally, the Stairway to Heaven. Climbing up wasn't a problem. But then!!! When I went to step onto it, the floor was completely transparent!!!!

Hahahaha, wild! Suddenly it got really scary.

Still, we made it up and got a photo, haha. Great atmosphere and delicious bakery — Steel Green really is a big Cheonan café worth recommending for a bit of healing. If you go, be sure to try the rooftop's Stairway to Heaven too.
