Saturday 2pm last seat at a Cheonan sushi restaurant: Ganghan Sushi

Dal-ha! It had been a while since I went on a date in Buldang-dong, so I finally visited Cheonan's famous sushi spot, Ganghan Sushi. I went on a weekend and honestly, customers kept pouring in and seats kept filling up!? There was even a wait... I wondered if this was a hidden gem only I hadn't known about, but once the food came out after ordering, I went 'wow, no wonder!' Let me show you around!

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch hours and parking

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch offers 2 hours of parking in the building's lot, and if you sign up for Naver Place notifications you get 2 pieces of fried tofu sushi. The hours are shown right in the photo below. It used to be closed on Mondays, but ** since September 7 it's open on Mondays too, and there's no break time!!!

It opens at 11am and runs straight through to 10pm with no break time. So you can comfortably visit whenever suits you! There may be a wait during lunch hours though.

At Ganghan Sushi in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, you can check the menu before even entering the store. It's confidently labeled as ** a sushi place with quality, thick cuts **! Solo dining is available, and so is takeout!

How long is the wait at 2pm on a Saturday?

I visited Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch at 2pm on a Saturday and the store was completely full..! I got the last seat and went straight in. After I got in, there was a bit of a wait, but the turnover was better than I expected, so seats filled up quickly without a long wait! There was also a menu at the waiting area, so you could pick your order in advance.

Ganghan Sushi menu: sets, single pieces and sides

The menu at Ganghan Sushi in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, is varied — with set menus, à la carte items, and side dishes.

I especially loved that there was a half-portion menu available too..! I ordered the Ganghan Special Sushi, 12 pieces. It comes with flounder, salmon, tuna, swordfish belly, seaweed shrimp, soy sauce shrimp, squid, scallop, egg, and monkfish liver gunkan — 12 pieces in total.

First to arrive: seafood croquette, miso soup and udon

At Ganghan Sushi, before the main sushi comes out, they first serve seafood croquette, miso soup, and udon. The seafood croquette was so good I thought, 'Boss, you could seriously sell this as its own menu item...?' That's how good this croquette was!

Ganghan Special Sushi 12 pieces: why it feels like good value

Here comes the main dish!! Everyone... the sushi's quality was already amazing, but the main dish's quality was no joke either 👀 Once I tried it, I immediately understood why everyone raves about the value. Each item's quality is quite high, but the price is genuinely reasonable! This kind of quality at this price... the talk about great value wasn't just talk 🤍

From 3kg extra-large flounder to 7kg premium fresh salmon, to 200kg true bluefin tuna and 200kg swordfish belly...! Apparently the fish they use is a cut above 👀 Tasting each piece, the fish quality felt almost omakase-level..! It was genuinely surprising to enjoy sashimi of this quality at this price 🤍

Why the salmon rice bowl at Ganghan Sushi is worth ordering

And, be sure to order the Ganghan Sushi salmon rice bowl. The presentation alone brought back memories of the salmon donburi I had in Japan, it was that on point. It comes out neatly packed like a bento box, and the moment you open the lid, the visuals are no joke...! The salmon is piled on generously in big chunks too, so every bite was pure happiness 🤍

I scooped up a heaping spoonful of the toppings over the rice and took a bite — wow... a flavor that leaves you speechless..! 🤤 When all the ingredients come together, your mouth fills with such rich flavor, I really recommend you try this one.

Wrap it up neatly with the Polo candy set out at every table, register your 2 hours of free parking, and you've got yourself a happy meal in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, all done! I'll definitely come back next time paying with my own money! Dal-ba!
