Uijeongbu café with iced plum tea and green-chair seats: Forerest

This time I went to Forerest, a large café famous for cake in Uijeongbu! I'd been meaning to check it out for ages but kept putting it off — with the weather finally nice, I figured it was time for cake and drinks ✌🏻

Forerest is open daily from 11:00 to 24:00, year-round with no days off. Pets are welcome, and there's parking for over 100 cars.

Entrance interior and the feel of the room

Even the walkway into Forerest has that nice wood-toned interior 👍🏻 From outside I was like 'wait, is there really a big café here?' but inside there's a photo zone and high chairs, so it seemed like a great spot for families or couples.

Is Forerest comfortable alone on a weekday lunchtime?

When I went around weekday lunchtime, it wasn't crowded, and quite a few people were quietly there on their own. The space is wide with high ceilings, so I'd worried it might echo or feel noisy — that worry disappeared completely, haha! Since most people seem to come here to relax, it felt like a place for quietly enjoying some downtime ✨ You can come without any pressure, haha. If it were closer to me, I feel like I'd come often just to read alone and eat cake ✌🏻🎀

Window seat or green-chair seat: which to pick at Forerest

The window seats at Forerest, with lush trees and nature right outside, are genuinely popular, haha! The central seats were full, so I ended up at the green chairs on the right. I didn't get the seat I wanted, but the chair was cushiony and I could see outside through the window — honestly kind of healing ✌🏻

The seats on the left side are great for reading or solo visits, while I'd recommend the window seats for couples! ✌🏻✅

Central group tables and the forest view through the windows

The center section finally cleared out, so I quickly snapped a shot 📸🌄 The nature view through the window is just so pretty, honestly 😭 I bet it's gorgeous when the leaves turn or when snow piles up in winter too ✌🏻 There's group seating in the center, so it's a great spot for get-togethers or for anyone who just wants to enjoy the scenery!

Forerest's self-serve bar and music

There's a self-serve bar set up in the center too, so water, napkins, and cups were all easy to grab! It's an insulated dispenser type, so the water stays cold 👍🏻✨ The music wasn't loud either, just a playlist that matched the mood 👍🏻 (I've reached the age where mellow ballads or classical beat out pop songs...)

A sunlit seat made for a nice aesthetic shot 📸✨ Photos came out great, and honestly the cake-and-coffee combo was so good, haha.

Iced plum tea, iced americano and Earl Grey Basque cheesecake

What I ordered at Forerest was iced plum tea, iced americano ✨, and the Earl Grey Basque cheesecake. I didn't expect much going in, but there's a reason it's known as one of Uijeongbu's best cake spots... the Earl Grey flavor was genuinely rich and delicious 👍🏻 The best Basque cheesecake I've had, honestly 👍🏻✨ You have to try the cake!!! Haha.

The mildly sweet, fragrant iced plum tea and the nutty, clean iced americano both paired perfectly with the cake — I ate it all very happily. Really glad I found this place ✌🏻

A walk around Forerest and the outdoor seats

After finishing my drink and cake at Forerest, I could take a light walk around the area right outside, which was so nice 😭

There's also tent seating and terrace seating outside, so if you want good dessert plus a good time, I'd definitely recommend it 👍🏻
