Uijeongbu coffee shop for a flat white between meetings: Forerest

In short

Forerest is a large forest-themed café at 181 Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. During a gap between work appointments, the writer and a companion ordered an iced café latte and a hot flat white with two of Forerest's house-made, fridge-aged cakes: plain Basque cheesecake and Earl Grey Basque cheesecake. With a wide parking lot and a different interior in every room, Forerest is an easy place to step out of the city for a quiet cup of coffee.

Why Forerest works for a gap between work appointments in Uijeongbu

I visited Forerest, a large café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu. I ended up here while looking for somewhere quiet to have a coffee during a gap in a work trip to Uijeongbu. If you ever want to escape the cityscape, here's my post on this forest café view.

Once you search it on navigation and arrive, this large Uijeongbu café is a great choice whenever you want to get away from city scenery or just want a forest café view. From the entrance it was even nicer than I expected, and I got a little excited. From the parking lot entrance, Forerest already felt like walking into a forest, and I smiled thinking, 'this is the scenery I was looking for.'

Parking at Forerest and the forest walking path

Located right beside the road, Forerest has a spacious parking lot, so there was no worry about parking. Alongside it, sculptures blend in with the wooded area, and it wasn't too noisy either — perfect for enjoying some alone time after being worn out by weekday work. Of course today I came with a companion, but this forest café view at this large Uijeongbu café is the kind of scenery I'd want to enjoy solo too.

After parking, I walked slowly toward the café, taking in each little detail along the way. I later found out there's actually another parking lot right next to the café, so you can also drive right up to it. But I was glad I walked up and enjoyed the scenery instead.

Just one table placed amid the natural flow of time — and somehow that alone gives off such a feeling. If you're looking for a forest-view cake spot in Uijeongbu, Forerest is exactly it.

Forerest's entrance and wood-toned interior

This is the entrance to Forerest, a cake spot at this large Uijeongbu café. At the entrance there's a wooden stepping-stone path laid out to create a natural atmosphere.

Stepping into Forerest, a cozy wood-tone interior caught my eye. It was so well decorated, like a photo out of a magazine, haha.

Walking further in, the ordering counter came into view. I could see drinks and cakes other guests had already ordered, which made me think I definitely had to try the cake too.

Forerest menu and prices

They have coffee, tea, and Basque cheesecakes that are great for a simple treat. Forerest in particular makes its Basque cheesecakes in-house and sells them fridge-aged. They're also gluten-free, which made me think they'd taste even better.

They also have decaf coffee and organic tea, so I liked having a wide range of choices.

Seating at Forerest: a different room in every space, terrace view full

After ordering, I took a look around the inside of this large Uijeongbu café.

There were several cozy little spaces here and there, each decorated differently, so picking a spot was its own kind of fun.

Cozy seating area with its own distinct interior style

The best spot has to be the terrace view, right? Other guests were already seated at the terrace tables, so I left that behind with a little regret and looked for another table.

Luckily there was a solid wood table free, so I settled there and brought over the drinks and cake I'd ordered.

We ordered an iced café latte, a warm flat white, and Forerest's signature Basque cheesecake plus the Earl Grey Basque cheesecake. Chatting over good coffee and cake in a warm atmosphere, we ended up going for a little walk outside too since the scenery was so nice.

That's my review of Forerest, a cake spot at this large Uijeongbu café.
