Alcohol-free dinner at Nani Byeolgwan, a Yeongdeungpo yakitori bar

After watching a movie with a friend, we stopped by Nani Byeolgwan for dinner at this izakaya.

Where is Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, and when is it open?

Nani Byeolgwan is located a short walk past Times Square, and the exterior was so well put together I figured this had to be a good spot. The soft lighting and moody atmosphere outside caught my eye right away as we passed by.

Access is pretty convenient too, so if you're looking for a place near Times Square for dinner or a drink, this seems like an easy pick!

The first floor especially had such a great atmosphere — personally I think it's perfect for sipping drinks and chatting slowly, whether for a date or a get-together with friends. Actually, every table next to us was on a blind date!!

Inside Nani Byeolgwan: first-floor and second-floor seating

The interior is split into two floors — the first floor felt more atmospheric, while the second floor felt more relaxed. The spacing between seats was comfortable, not cramped, and with options for different group sizes, it looked great for both dates and hangouts with friends!!

They also have tables for 4 and 6, so it looks fine for group visits too.

How were the beef brisket nabe and chicken skewers?

The food came out at a reasonable pace, so the wait never felt long. The beef brisket nabe (hot pot) had a rich broth, and the brisket itself was chewy with great flavor! Honestly... the moment I took a bite I thought, ah, I need a drink with this — but I couldn't drink because of medication, and that was such a shame ㅜ

The chicken skewers were tender and really delicious, and the pork belly scallion skewers had the scallion and meat flavors blending nicely. Each skewer was grilled with care, with a light smoky char on the outside and a juicy texture inside that made them satisfying.

Is Nani Byeolgwan worth a dinner without drinks?

I'd recommend both the skewers and the nabe, but if I had to pick just one, the chicken skewers were the best. Overall the place struck a good balance between taste and atmosphere, and I think it's worth a visit if you're into yakitori.

Next time, I'd love to try the other skewer options and side dishes I didn't get to this time. If you're looking for a good-vibe izakaya or yakitori spot near Yeongdeungpo Station, Nani Byeolgwan could be a satisfying choice.
