The writer, left with forward head posture after desk work and exam prep, toured the group rooms, private rooms and showers at Vines Pilates, took a 5:1 group class in the group room with the Cadillac, and compared the fixed-teacher program with app-based booking. For anyone whose goal is posture correction, the fixed-teacher program at Vines Pilates is the one to choose.

Entrance to Vines Pilates on B1 of JK Tower

Hi everyone! I've always had a hunched posture from desk work plus exam prep, basically living life as a turtle-neck, so I finally decided to try Pilates. I was really happy with the facilities and the class, so here's my review.

The studio is just a 1-minute walk from Seoul National University Entrance Station.

Inside the Bongcheon-dong Pilates studio, cardio zone included

The main area of Vines Pilates Seoul National University Entrance Station branch also has a cardio zone. I liked that there were machines for cardio work separate from the Pilates equipment.

This Bongcheon-dong Pilates studio was basically spotless, and everything you'd need for a workout — socks, towels, a water dispenser — was on hand.

There was also a space for private lessons right in the main area.

How Vines Pilates splits its group rooms and private rooms

Group room 1: the Barrel room

This Pilates studio near Seoul National University Entrance Station has several rooms for classes, including group rooms and private rooms.

The first group room was a wide space set up for group classes, with several barrel machines.

Group room 2: the Cadillac room

The second group room had a Cadillac machine. My first class was in here... and it was so intense my muscles were sore for days.

This is private room 1, used for one-on-one lessons. There were several different types of equipment in here.

This is private room 2. Someone was waiting for a class so I couldn't photograph the inside, but it was a spacious room with multiple pieces of equipment.

What the locker room and showers are like

This is the locker room at the Pilates studio near Seoul National University Entrance Station. When I pick a gym, whether the shower and locker rooms are clean matters a lot to me, and Vines Pilates kept both really well maintained, which I loved.

There were hangers for your clothes too,

and the clean shower room had shampoo, conditioner, a hair dryer and towels — perfect for washing up right after your workout.

App booking or fixed-teacher program: which should you pick?

At this Bongcheon-dong Pilates studio, you can choose between two options for group lessons: app booking or the fixed-teacher program.

App booking, explained

Vines Pilates Seoul National University Entrance Station branch lets you book classes in advance through an app called 'Hi Five.' I liked that you could freely choose the time, teacher and class type for each date.

The app booking system is great if your schedule changes every week, since you can arrange things freely. The downside is that popular time slots fill up fast, and it can be harder to stay consistent on your own.

The fixed-teacher program, explained

This Pilates studio near Seoul National University Entrance Station is the only place running its 'fixed-teacher program.' It's a chart-management style program where one dedicated instructor takes charge of a fixed group of 5 students, setting monthly goals and giving weekly feedback — basically a 5:1 lesson that feels like private coaching.

  • For posture correction → the fixed-teacher program is recommended
  • For general fitness → app booking is recommended

Private lessons at Vines Pilates

If you're looking for private Pilates lessons in Bongcheon-dong, Vines Pilates offers them too. Private lessons are taught 100% by senior instructors, and since the same instructors teach both private and group lessons here, you can continue with the same teacher when you move from private to group classes.

5:1 group class review and one-line verdict

I took the 5:1 group class, and even though it was a group setting, the instructor really checked each person's form carefully, going over my posture, condition and problem areas in detail during the first class. Even after the class ended, I got feedback on which parts of my body were weak and how my posture was — it was really helpful.

If you're looking for a Pilates studio near Seoul National University Entrance Station, I strongly recommend 'Vines Pilates.'
