Half-and-half duck grill for two in Gyeyang, Incheon: Ganaandeok

In short

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is a charcoal duck grill restaurant on Jangje-ro in Gyeyang, Incheon, near Bakchon Station. Visiting as a pair after a walk along the Ara Waterway, the writer ordered half a raw duck and half jumulleok (spicy marinated duck) as a half-and-half set, added king oyster mushrooms for 3,000 won, and finished the meal with free mung bean porridge, charcoal-roasted sweet potato and duck soup. Because Ganaandeok takes orders from half a duck, two people can taste several dishes without committing to a whole bird.

I'd been wanting to visit the Ara Waterway so badly! After finally going, I went looking for a duck restaurant nearby, and everyone said Ganaandeok was the go-to spot in Gyeyang, so we headed over too haha. This is Ganaandeok, a duck restaurant in Gyeyang-gu!

I was looking for a good duck restaurant around Gyeyang-gu, Incheon when I found this place, and it turned out to be bigger than I expected, with plenty of parking and seating — good for a family meal or a group outing! When I visited, most of the tables around me were families having dinner.

Is there enough parking at Ganaandeok?

What I liked most when I first arrived was how spacious the parking lot was! When you're picking a barbecue spot or a place to eat out with family, the food matters, but if parking is a hassle you hesitate to go — here there was plenty of space, so it was easy to visit by car. Families or groups visiting together should have no trouble at all ;)

How big is the restaurant, and what are the seats like?

The store itself is also really spacious! Walking in, there's seating on both sides, and the table spacing and overall layout felt roomy — good for a group meal, and worth considering for family dinners or gatherings too!

There was even a claw machine at the entrance. Both of us stopped dead in our tracks there haha.

Ordering half raw duck and half jumulleok for two

We visited as a pair that day, and another thing I loved here was being able to order half a duck at a time! When you go for duck, the standard order unit is usually huge, so with two people you sometimes end up eating just one dish the whole time — but here, since you can order half a duck, it wasn't a burden even as a two-person group haha. Being able to try a variety of things was great! We ordered half raw duck and half jumulleok (spicy marinated grilled duck)~

Seaweed soup and sides at the self-serve bar

You can grab extra side dishes at the self-serve corner, and if you want seaweed soup, just head straight to the self-serve bar. The warm seaweed soup was delicious haha.

Charcoal-grilled duck and the free mung bean porridge

The duck is grilled over real charcoal, so it picks up a subtle smoky aroma, and grilled to a nice golden brown, it really confirmed that duck is best as a grill!! Also, when you order duck, they give you free mung bean porridge (couldn't get a photo of it). It was nice to have warm mung bean porridge to eat before digging into the meat!! Rather than eating meat nonstop, having something to eat in between made the whole meal feel more well-rounded haha.

King oyster mushrooms add 3,000 won

We ordered mushrooms as an extra. You get 2–3 king oyster mushrooms for ₩3,000! We really wanted the duck-plus-mushroom combo, so we ordered it anyway!

Sweet potatoes roasted on the charcoal grill

And there was a real specialty here — the sweet potato! The staff put a sweet potato into the charcoal ahead of time, so while grilling the duck, you can also let the sweet potato roast alongside it ㅠㅠ so cozy ㅠㅠ. The sweet potato, slowly roasted over the charcoal, was genuinely delicious. Hot on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside — total honey sweet potato when I tasted it. I came for the duck but the sweet potato was so good my hand kept reaching for it. Maybe because it's roasted over charcoal, there's a faint smoky flavor too, and eating it while warm made it even better haha. If you love sweet potato, make sure you get one!!! If you're full, you can take it to go — they even have bags specifically for wrapping up the sweet potato haha.

Finishing the meal with duck soup

To finish, we also ordered duck soup. The broth is spicy yet refreshing, making it the perfect way to close out a meal of grilled meat! In particular, the spiciness added to the warm broth kept it clean rather than greasy. Eating grilled duck nonstop can get a little heavy, but sipping the duck soup broth alongside it really cleared the palate! It also went great with rice, making it a solid choice for the last dish of the meal haha.

Is Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch worth it for two?

Overall, after visiting, I think this is a solid choice for anyone looking for a good duck restaurant in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. First, the spacious parking lot makes it easy to visit by car, and the store itself is huge, making it great for family dinners or group gatherings — highly recommend! Above all, I loved that even with just two people, you can order half a duck at a time. If a whole duck feels like too much for a two-person visit, you can start with half and still enjoy a variety of other menu items >.< If you're looking for a place to take your family for duck, or looking for a spacious, easy-to-park barbecue spot in Gyeyang-gu, this is worth a visit! If you're looking for duck in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, enjoy grilled duck with mung bean porridge, honey sweet potato, and duck soup all together at Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch~ haha.
