Why a Kovea tent sale led back to Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch

We're finally getting serious about camping, so we headed to Kovea in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon to buy a tent first haha🤣🤣 It just so happened that they were running a flash sale for the first 30 people that day, so I figured we'd better get there early — off we went first thing in the morning! After picking out the tent we wanted and browsing all sorts of camping gear, one place immediately came to mind.

We left without eating breakfast, so everyone was hungry, and the only thing on our minds was meat 🥰 Straight to Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch!

Not far from Kovea is Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, a duck restaurant I've genuinely visited many times as a regular. Coming all this way, we couldn't just go home. Haha. Since we were already up and moving early, we decided to do an open-run at Ganaandeok too.

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is probably already familiar to a lot of people searching for duck restaurants in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. This wasn't my first visit — it's genuinely my Nth time. I come by often enough whenever I have business in the Gyeyang area that I've lost count of exactly how many times, and this day was no exception — no hesitation, straight to Ganaandeok.

Doing an open-run just to eat duck. Haha. Getting an early start meant we bought the tent and ate delicious duck, a properly productive day from the very start of our camping prep.

The order: raw duck, two servings, two birds

When we come to Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, our family barely has to think about the menu. Today, once again: raw duck! We ordered two servings, which came to two birds.

I've been here many times and I still crave the raw duck. Plenty of restaurants taste great the first time you visit, but restaurants you keep going back to this many times are actually rarer than you'd think.

We could look for other restaurants whenever we're out in Gyeyang-gu, but the fact that we keep ending up back at Ganaandeok says a lot — it clearly suits our family's taste.

The quality of the raw duck here is always solid, solid

Once the raw duck hits the grill, the plump meat starts cooking, and after a while, the duck fat naturally begins to render out. The moment the meat's surface turns golden in that fat, it starts looking seriously delicious.

There's seaweed soup too, all you want from the self-serve bar, and it's tasty.

Raw duck over seasoned duck, with spicy bean sprouts on the side

I like seasoned duck too, but at Ganaandeok I always go for raw duck. Since the seasoning isn't strong, you get the full clean, savory flavor of the duck itself.

Duck meat especially changes in texture quite a bit depending on how far you grill it — when the surface turns golden, that savory flavor really comes alive, and it's ridiculously good. Drooling already.

That said, I prefer it grilled just enough to stay tender rather than grilled so hard it turns dry and chewy. One bite is savory, the next is clean and light. I wrap it in lettuce too, but my favorite way is with the red bean sprouts here.

That's why you can eat a lot of raw duck without getting tired of it, surprisingly. So so good haha. Watching the duck sizzle away on the grill makes the wait feel the longest. Haha. But it's best eaten piping hot right after it's properly browned.

What I love most about Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is this: it's not a place that was just good once — it's a place that's consistently good, visit after visit.

Is Ganaandeok good with kids? Free porridge and roasted sweet potatoes

The kids eat so well here too 😍😍😍 Sometimes you find a supposedly great restaurant, it's amazing the first time, and a little disappointing on the second visit. Not this place — I keep coming back for the Nth time. So if anyone asks me where to find good duck in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, I can recommend Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch with real confidence.

The porridge is free too, and it's honestly delicious. Great when eating with kids as well.

If you prefer enjoying the duck's own savory flavor grilled plain over strongly seasoned duck, this place will really suit you.

We came out to Gyeyang-gu this morning for the Kovea tent flash sale, and it ended up being a great route overall. We set out to properly start camping by buying a tent, then filled up at our regular duck spot nearby. Felt like we prepared properly even before camping officially began. Haha.

Oh, and that's not the end. The kicker here is the sweet potato. You pull it out after finishing the meat, and it's genuinely honey-sweet. A sweet potato of a lifetime. Blow on it a bit and it's so good.

Kovea camping gear first, duck near Bakchon Station after

If you're heading to Kovea to look at camping gear or tents, this could be a good reference for finding a place to eat. Browsing camping gear then heading over for duck near Bakchon Station, Incheon, like we did, makes for a solid route.

Also, today was our first time doing an open-run here, and I personally liked it. Usually if you time it around lunch, you inevitably overlap with the crowded hours, but since we were already out early because of the tent, we started our meal early too. Worth getting up early for. Haha.

And Ganaandeok is a place that's grown on me more with each repeat visit rather than the first. When you think about which restaurant is truly your regular spot, it's usually the one that comes to mind naturally whenever you're nearby, no special occasion needed. For me, that's exactly Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch.

Oh, you're in Gyeyang-gu? Then should we go to Ganaandeok? Pretty much how it goes. Haha.

Today too, from the moment I said we were going to Kovea to buy a tent, honestly, Ganaandeok was already on my mind.

If you're searching for good duck near Bakchon Station, Incheon and looking for somewhere to visit, this is a place I'd recommend to anyone who loves raw duck. Especially if you're like me and love clean, savory raw duck, you'll be satisfied here.

Once again, we properly polished off two whole ducks today. A day that started with buying a tent to kick off camping and ended with a thorough visit to our regular duck spot. Coming all the way to Gyeyang-gu for a tent was well worth it.

And I'm sure that next time I have a reason to be in Gyeyang-gu, I'll stop by again. I've given up counting which visit number this is, but once again, we ate really well today. If you're looking for good duck in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, or good duck near Bakchon Station, Incheon, definitely check out Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch!
