Yugwanjang Banjeom, a 24-hour Chinese restaurant at Omokgyo Station
I was looking for a Chinese restaurant near Omokgyo Station where I could eat even late at night, and ended up at Yugwanjang Banjeom, which runs 24 hours 🤗 Sometimes you suddenly crave jjajangmyeon or jjampong, but it's hard to find anywhere open once it gets late. This place is open around the clock, so I could visit without worrying about the time at all!

How long is the wait, and what is the dining room like?
This Chinese restaurant gets busy at lunch and dinner, so there are chairs set up outside for waiting 🪑 During peak hours there can be a wait, but you can just sit comfortably outside while you wait since the chairs are right there!

The inside was bigger and cleaner than I expected. The table seats are divided by partitions, so you can eat comfortably without feeling too close to the next table.

The group room for bigger tables
On one side of the restaurant there's a room-like space set up for group dining, which looked great for family gatherings or eating with a group!

It's partitioned off but not closed in and stuffy — you can still see out, so it feels separated but open at the same time. That kind of space matters a lot when you're visiting with a group! It looked comfortable for chatting while eating, so it seems like a great spot for family outings, group meetings, or team lunches looking for a Chinese restaurant!

Included side dishes and the self-serve bar
Once I sat down, pickled radish and jjachai (pickled mustard tuber) came out first by default. These are essential side dishes at any Chinese restaurant, and they went great with the jjajangmyeon and jjampong.

If you run low on side dishes, there's no need to feel awkward — you can just take as much as you need from the self-serve bar, which was convenient since I could just grab exactly what I wanted. I ordered fried dumplings, mini tangsuyuk, and chili jjajangmyeon.

Three dishes: fried dumplings, mini tangsuyuk and chili jjajangmyeon
Fried dumplings (gunmandu)
The fried dumplings came out first, golden brown and looking delicious right away! The outside was crispy and the inside moist and warm, so they were great on their own, but they'd also pair well with noodle dishes like jjajangmyeon or jjampong 🥟

Mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)
The mini tangsuyuk was, true to its name, a mini portion that wasn't too much to eat alongside a main dish. Tangsuyuk's charm is its crispy fried texture, and this one had a crispy outside with a soft inside — so good!!

The batter was thin rather than thick, so you could really feel the crispiness, and the meat inside was thicker than expected, giving a satisfying bite!! Since it's a mini size, it was great to order alongside jjajangmyeon and fried dumplings to try a bit of everything 👍

Chili jjajangmyeon (spicy black bean noodles)
Next, the chili jjajangmyeon!🌶️🍜 With chili added compared to regular jjajangmyeon, it had an extra spicy kick that kept it from feeling heavy and made it clean and easy to eat. With the rich black bean sauce flavor and spiciness together, it didn't get boring even after eating a lot!

The sauce coated the noodles well, so mixing it all together was delicious! Eating the chili jjajangmyeon between bites of the fried dumplings and mini tangsuyuk kept my palate clean thanks to the spiciness — the combination was really good!!

Worth it for a late-night Chinese food craving?
Eating this many dishes together at this Chinese restaurant left me full and satisfied! Since Yugwanjang Banjeom runs 24 hours, it's great to visit when you suddenly want Chinese food as a late-night snack or when the timing just doesn't line up with regular hours 👍 If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant around Mokdong or Omokgyo, it's worth giving Yugwanjang Banjeom a try!
