Eopija is like a neighborhood go-to pizza place for people living in Yeomchang-dong and Mok-dong. It's the kind of spot that comes to mind when you just want a simple pizza and a beer, and this time, not quite ready to say goodbye after dinner, I was looking for somewhere to go for a light second round with drinks — so I decided on Eopija.

It seemed like a great fit for anyone looking for a bar near Yeomchang Station to hit up for a second round after eating at a nearby restaurant. Above all, it has the kind of atmosphere that's perfect for meeting a friend after work for good food and a beer.

Eopija has the affordable pricing of a small beer bar combined with the vibe of a stylish pub. The exterior looks like the kind of pub where you'd expect prices to be steep, but you can check the menu and prices right out front, and once inside, the atmosphere is more relaxed than expected.

They're also running a happy hour event, offering one menu item and a draft beer for just ₩10,000, which seems great for a solo drink or a simple dinner.

I visited in the evening, and it wasn't too loud or chaotic, so it was easy to enjoy a relaxed meal — it also seemed like a good spot for chatting with friends or a date.

What is on the menu at Eopija?

Even though it's a bar, they have non-alcoholic beer and other drinks, so I'd recommend visiting even if you're not into drinking, just for the pizza. But personally, my eyes went straight to the soju-and-beer set.

We sat down, looked over the menu, and ordered the pizza I'd been wanting along with a side to go with it. For the basic side dish, they gave us Pizza Time, that nostalgic snack cracker. They also brought corn kernels, which I love.

Two draft beers arrived first. Even though I'd already eaten, the cold draft beer went down easy.

And another reason I wanted to visit Eopija that day was because it's known for its draft beer. The refreshing carbonation going down was top-tier, and a clean, cold sip cut right through the greasiness from the Korean BBQ we'd had at our first stop — thanks to that crisp taste, the beer on that autumn night was so good.

After a short wait, the pizza finally arrived. Pizza really is best eaten right when it comes out. Seeing the pizza come out hot, looking so appetizing, I took a few photos first.

Taking a bite, the dough, toppings, and cheese all came together well overall. I especially liked that the pizza wasn't too strong or salty, making it easy to keep eating without feeling weighed down. The dough was chewy in just the right way and paired well with the pizza, and the savory flavor of the cheese really came through.

Personally, I think toppings matter for pizza, but the dough shouldn't be too heavy if you want to keep enjoying it to the last bite — and the pizza I had that day held up well in that regard.

How the leftover Eopija pizza reheats in a pan at home

Above all, I was surprised at how big it was for such an affordable price. I couldn't even finish half, so I took the rest home. But once I reheated it in a pan at home, the same chewy, savory taste from the first bite came right back.

Eopija really is a pizza spot worth its reputation!

Personally, I visited as a second round this time, but next time I'd like to come as the first stop and try the other menu items at a more leisurely pace. The pizza is great for sharing with a group too, and pairs well with drinks, so it seems like a solid spot for hanging out with friends.
