Gangnam bakery: peanut sand dipped in salt cream latte, Bakerist Brown

Today's post is about my revisit to Bakerist Brown — I'd been once before and went back again recently. It's right between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's great to swing by before or after meeting someone. But honestly, the best part is the huge variety of breads, cakes, and desserts — every time I go, I end up agonizing over what to order haha >_<

Why go back to Bakerist Brown, a bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station?

This time I heard they'd launched a new menu, so I was curious to try the Gangnam Sand. If you're looking for a good bakery or bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station, hope this post helps!

Whenever I come to Bakerist Brown, I can't just go straight for a drink — I have to do a lap around the bakery display first. From pastries to sourdough loaves, croissants, cakes, and all kinds of desserts, there's so much variety that I end up picking something a little different each visit.

It's fall, so the chestnut fig dessert looked really tempting too!

The eight Gangnam Sand flavors and what they cost

Last time I had the Dubai sand bagel and pistachio pain au chocolat, but this time I spotted the new Gangnam Sand and had to try it right away. It's a dessert with a crisp sand cookie shell filled with rich, soft filling cream, and it comes in a whopping eight flavors.

Gangnam Sand

• Lychee Ganache — chocolate and cream
• London Fog — Earl Grey and white chocolate
• Cream Forest — matcha and cream cheese
• Peanut Butter Wave — peanut and butter
• Raspberry Blossom — raspberry and white chocolate
• Sweet Pumpkin Jack — sweet pumpkin and butter
• Golden Hour — caramel and white chocolate
• Black Grain — black sesame and cream

Prices run ₩2,400–2,500 depending on flavor, and the 8-piece set is ₩19,000.

Picking one at a time is nice, but if you want to try several flavors at once, the set is a good way to go.

The drink menu is pretty varied too, and you can switch to decaf or oat milk, so you can order to fit your coffee preferences.

Ordering the salt cream latte again

For my drink, I went with the salt cream latte again. I loved the salt cream coffee on my last visit, and this time I ended up back on the salt cream family again lol. It's sweet, smooth cream with a touch of saltiness — a proper sweet-and-salty combo.

Peanut Butter Wave and matcha Cream Forest: the best two sands

Out of all the flavors, peanut and matcha were personally my favorites.

The Peanut Butter Wave had that distinct nutty peanut flavor coming through clearly, with a smooth butter cream — right up my alley since I love nutty desserts.

The matcha one was also better than expected — the gentle bitterness of the matcha came through together with the softness of the cream cheese, so it wasn't overly sweet, which I liked.

How to dip Gangnam Sand into the salt cream latte

And here's the combo I discovered this time: dipping the Gangnam Sand lightly into the cream of the salt cream latte. The sand cookie is already tasty on its own, but with a little of that soft, sweet cream on it, it takes on a whole different feel. The chewy, soft cream paired really well with it. I think I'll be ordering Gangnam Sand with a salt cream latte again next time!

Seating at Bakerist Brown, floor by floor

It's a pretty large bakery café spanning basement level to the 3rd floor. I liked how spacious it felt on my first visit, and going back again, I still appreciated the variety of seating options. The 2nd floor has a clean, quiet vibe, great for chatting over coffee with a friend, while the 3rd floor has big tables suited for studying or group meetups. A lot of pretty cafés in Gangnam end up cramped for space, but the generous room here is a clear advantage.

Bakerist Brown seems like the kind of place where you can pick something new every time you go, which is exactly why revisiting is so fun haha. If you're near Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station looking for a bakery café with great bread, I'd recommend Bakerist Brown!
