Mangwon-dong Mexican restaurant with weekend booking slots: Taco Dot

If you're looking for good tacos in Mangwon-dong, there's one place I actually went back to. It's Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch, near Mangwon Market! I remembered it fondly from my first visit and stopped by again this time on my way to Mangwon Hangang Park.

This place is run by a first-generation Mexican food owner-chef with 15 years of experience, and you can try all kinds of Mexican dishes here — not just tacos but fajitas, chimichangas, enchiladas, and more. If you love Mexican food, you'll probably love this place 🤤 In particular, I recommend the grilled meat fajita platter, since you can try a bunch of things at once.

Where is Taco Dot Mangwon Market, and what are the hours?

Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch is located near both Mangwon Station and Mangwon Market. It's open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a break time from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

You just walk from Mangwon Station toward Mangwon Market to get there, so it works great as a Mangwon-dong date spot, and it's also a good stop before heading to Mangwon Hangang Park — which is exactly what I did this time before hitting the river haha. If you're planning to visit at an in-between time for lunch or dinner, keep the break time in mind!

Weekend reservations at 11:30 and 5, plus a tip on waiting

Mangwon-dong itself gets really crowded on weekends, so if you're worried about waiting, I recommend booking ahead. At Taco Dot, you can't reserve just any time slot on weekends — reservations are only open for the lunch and dinner opening times.

The available weekend reservation times are 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.! On weekdays, they said reservations are open for any time slot except break time. If you're planning a weekend date in Mangwon-dong, booking ahead for either 11:30 or 5 should help you avoid the wait a bit.

Taco Dot menu and the fajita platter price

Taco Dot has a surprisingly wide menu! 🌮🌮 There are light options like tacos, plus chimichangas, enchiladas, and more, and if you're visiting with a group, the fajita platter is a great main to order. What I ordered this time was the grilled meat fajita platter, priced at ₩43,900.

What I liked most was that it's not just meat — it comes with shrimp and grilled vegetables too, so ordering one lets you sample a bit of everything. Personally, if it's your first visit, I really recommend going with the grilled meat option...! In the end, I ordered the same thing again on my second visit haha.

✔️ Grilled meat fajita platter — I was surprised by how much food came out the moment it hit the table. Smoky grilled meat, shrimp, and vegetables all arrive together in generous portions, and you just pile whatever you like onto a tortilla and add sauce to taste.

It's delicious whether you pile on a bit of everything or focus mostly on meat or shrimp, so it was fun to build a slightly different combination with each bite haha.

Unlimited tortilla and house-made sauce refills

And here's the great part about Taco Dot's fajita platter! Tortillas and house-made sauce come with free refills. The platter itself is quite generous, so the tortillas that come standard might not be quite enough — we asked for one refill and the amount ended up just right. It was nice not having to be stingy with the fillings out of fear of running out of tortillas, since you can wrap everything generously right to the end.

Is Taco Dot a good date spot in Mangwon-dong?

Above all, true to being a repeat visit, I once again left having eaten really well haha. Mangwon-dong has so many good restaurants that plenty of places are one-and-done for me, but Taco Dot is somewhere I keep coming back to whenever I get a craving for fajitas. The interior also has an exotic vibe that suits it well as a Mangwon-dong date spot, and the location is great for pairing with Mangwon Market or Mangwon Hangang Park.

On weekends especially, the reservation times are fixed, so aim for either 11:30 or 5, and if you're not sure what to order, I personally recommend the grilled meat fajita platter for trying a bit of everything at once.
