Indian restaurant in Sillim, Seoul for palak paneer: India Darbar
In short
India Darbar is an Indian restaurant on the second floor of a building near Sillim Station in Gwanak, Seoul. The writer and a friend ordered Set B — spinach curry (palak paneer), boneless tandoori chicken, naan, rice and lassi — and added a bottle of Kingfisher beer. The palak paneer studded with big chunks of paneer, matched with the cold Kingfisher, made India Darbar a memorably exotic date spot in Sillim.

As for parking, the building doesn't really have its own dedicated parking space. If you're driving, I'd recommend checking nearby public or private parking lots beforehand!

Inside India Darbar: an unusual date spot in Sillim
India Darbar catches your eye from the building exterior with its exotic signage, making it an unusual date course in Sillim. When my friend and I first went to meet up and found the place, the exterior alone was already something else?! 😮 A hint of that authentic local vibe wafting out along with the exotic sign welcoming us in — already smelled like a good restaurant... my heart started racing 💓

Ordering Set B and a Kingfisher beer at India Darbar
What we ordered at India Darbar was Set B, known for nailing both value and composition — clap clap! 👏 The menu is seriously huge. And good food without beer is basically a crime, right? So of course we smartly added a bottle of Kingfisher beer too 🍺 Honestly it was my first time hearing of it, but I just went for it — love a food adventure.
While I was busy snapping photos and making a fuss, the star dishes started showing up on the table one by one!

🍗 Boneless tandoori chicken in Set B
The tandoori chicken in India Darbar's Set B comes boneless, which made it so easy to eat. It stole the show visually right away! 🤩 Bone-in tandoori chicken can be a hassle to pick apart sometimes, but here it's boneless so it's super convenient. Grilled just right for Korean tastes — spicy with a deep savory flavor — my chopsticks didn't stop moving the second it hit the table, hehe.

Naan and rice at India Darbar
These two are absolutely inseparable from curry, right? Tearing off a piece of freshly baked, piping hot, giant naan and dipping it deep into the spinach curry... honestly, no need to say more, my mouth hurts just thinking about it, ㅠㅠ

The crispy yet chewy texture is insane. Piling curry on the fluffy rice that came alongside and mixing it all together — total carb explosion, total satisfaction.

What does India Darbar's palak paneer (spinach curry) taste like?
India Darbar's spinach curry (palak paneer) is the main dish — soft, nutty, and full of deep spinach flavor. Finally, the star of the show, spinach curry, makes its entrance! Looking at it, you might wonder what this green thing even is... but the second you take a bite, your face gives it away. You can't put your spoon down, you just keep scooping — that magic kind of taste! Soft yet nutty, with deep spinach flavor and its own savory richness — a true rice thief.

And there were big chunky pieces of chewy Indian cheese (paneer) tucked inside — absolutely flawless.

Naan + curry + tandoori chicken really is the ultimate combo >.<

Pairing the curry with lassi and Kingfisher beer
A sip of lassi to soften all that spicy, exotic flavor — pure heaven, no exaggeration. And on top of that, adding a chilled Kingfisher beer, India's signature brew, foam poured on thick, and it genuinely felt like a mini trip to India ✈️ (never actually been, lol). Chicken, curry, and beer together is truly one of those formulas that food lovers everywhere know is unbeatable...
Is India Darbar in Sillim worth a visit?
I poured my heart into this review of India Darbar, a must-visit Sillim Station restaurant! The vibe inside is so cozy and pretty, and the Set B we ordered was practically flawless in composition — I left completely stuffed and healed. The staff were also super kind, which made the whole meal even better!!! If you're tired of the usual samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) or pasta in Sillim and looking for something more special and exotic — a real Indian restaurant in Sillim for a date — don't overthink it this weekend, just stop by! You won't regret it, heh 🤞
