For Sunday lunch I wanted to eat a bit more leisurely than usual, so my wife and I headed out near Seolleung Station and ended up going for sushi.

We both happened to be craving sushi, so while looking around for where to go, we ended up at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, which looked like a good spot to pick and choose a bunch of things without worrying too much about the price.

These days you can rack up a pretty hefty bill at a sushi place after just a few plates, so the fact that every plate here is ₩1,990 caught my eye.

So that day we decided to pick out whatever sushi we felt like and properly fill up, haha.
Where is Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, and what are the seats like?
Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is located on the 2nd floor of 10 Seolleung-ro 86-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's within walking distance of Seolleung Station, so it also looked like a fine option to reach by public transit.
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building, and we visited during Sunday lunchtime.
I figured it might be crowded since it was a weekend lunch, but luckily we got seated right away.
Looking inside, there were counter seats good for eating alone as well as tables for groups, so it seemed like a comfortable place to use depending on the situation.
We came as a couple, but the atmosphere didn't feel awkward at all for solo dining either.
Every plate 1,990 won: conveyor belt or order on the spot
The biggest feature of Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is definitely the price. Every plate is ₩1,990.

It runs as a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, so you can grab whatever's passing by on the belt, or order specific menu items directly from the staff.

Best of all, with every plate at ₩1,990, there was much less pressure to do price math in your head while choosing what to eat, haha.

If you're searching for good sushi in Daechi-dong and want somewhere that's easy on the wallet too, this setup would probably feel pretty convenient.

At first we just watched the sushi go by on the belt and picked out whatever caught our eye.
The basic setting: miso soup, pickled rakkyo and ginger
A miso soup was already set at our seats, and soy sauce, wasabi, rakkyo (pickled shallots), and ginger were on the table to help yourself to. I always make sure to grab rakkyo when eating sushi, so I loaded up on that first, haha.
It has a tangy flavor that refreshes your palate between bites of sushi, which I personally love.

My wife also grabbed a bunch of side dishes, and we were fully ready to dig in!
Flounder sushi and flounder fin sushi
Flounder sushi is one dish I personally can't skip when eating sushi.

We ordered the flounder separately. It had a clean flavor with a chewy texture, and flounder just always seems to deliver reliably high satisfaction.
My wife tried the flounder sushi too and said she liked the texture, enjoying it a lot. So we didn't stop there and added a flounder fin order as well.

The clean flounder flavor combined with the chewy texture of the fin gave it a whole different feel.

Salmon sushi and eel sushi, one plate each
After the flounder, we tried the salmon sushi too. The salmon was piled on thick, so the texture was really good with each bite.

Salmon is pretty much a default order whenever I go to a sushi place, and this day was no exception, haha.

We also picked out an eel sushi, and the sweet sauce paired nicely with the eel's soft texture. The eel on top wasn't too thin, so you could really taste it with each bite.

When you search for good sushi in Daechi-dong, you tend to find places with a wide variety of options, and in that sense this place definitely had the fun of picking and choosing.

Beef tartare tataki, scallop and tako wasabi (octopus with wasabi)
We ate a lot more variety than usual this day, ordering beef tartare tataki, scallop, and octopus wasabi as well.

Of everything, the octopus wasabi suited my taste the best. There was a sharp hit of wasabi along with a chewy texture, which made it good to eat one at a time between sushi bites.

Tamago, beef brisket, bossam and bacon sushi: a little of everything
We also tried tamago (egg omelet sushi), beef brisket, bossam (boiled pork wraps), and bacon — menu items we don't usually pick at other sushi places.

My wife, who loves meat, especially enjoyed the beef brisket and bossam, haha. Since there were two of us, we naturally ended up with more variety as we each picked what we felt like eating.

When I search for good sushi in Daechi-dong, I usually only think of sashimi or fish sushi, but with this much variety on offer, it was easy to pick according to your taste.

Shrimp tempura ordered halfway through the meal
After eating a good amount of sushi, we felt like something a little different, so we ordered shrimp tempura. The batter was crispy and the shrimp was fairly large, so it had a satisfying bite. After eating sushi nonstop, having a piece of tempura in the middle really revived the appetite, haha.

It was also perfect for sharing with my wife.
Finishing with half-chilled buckwheat noodles (ban-naeng momil)
Lastly, we ordered ban-naengmomil. I thought a cool dish would be a nice way to finish after all the sushi, so I figured we'd try it lightly — and it turned out better than expected.

The noodles were on the chewy side, and the broth was cool with a slightly sweet flavor, which made for a nice palate cleanser at the end. Shrimp tempura came along with it too, so eating that together with the cold noodles was fun. By the time we finished the sushi, tempura, and cold noodles, we were both quite full.
Was Sushi Ian N worth it for a Sunday lunch for two?
If you're looking for sushi near Seolleung Station, searching for good sushi in Daechi-dong and visiting here seems like a solid option. It was great for a casual weekend lunch with my wife like this, and it also looked like a comfortable spot to visit alone and eat at the counter seats.

Given the price, being able to try all sorts of different things was the part I liked most. Next time I visit, I want to try the menu items we missed this time, haha.

If you're looking for good value sushi, searching for good sushi in Daechi-dong and considering Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station might be worth a try. Takeout is available too, so it could come in handy on a day you want to enjoy sushi comfortably at home.
