Sindang-dong gopchang cheaper than Wangsimni alley: Jinseong Hanwoo
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Korean beef intestine (gopchang) restaurant on Dasan-ro near Sindang Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Beef gopchang costs 19,000 won and beef makchang 20,000 won, and the house-made scallion kimchi, mustard leaf kimchi and altari radish kimchi cut the richness enough that a second order feels easy. Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang
Sindang-dong is such a hot neighborhood these days. There are so many pretty cafés and things to see nearby that I end up going often, and today I'm bringing you a real regular spot that I visit on my own dime, no sponsorship!

When you hear beef gopchang (grilled beef intestines), you probably think it's overpriced and greasy with poor value, right? But Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is proof that you can get excellent quality at a reasonable price!! If you love beef gopchang, you need to save this one.
Where is Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang, and what is the restaurant like?

Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is at 243-1 Dasan-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea, really close to a subway station and easy to find. If you're looking for a great gopchang restaurant in Sindang-dong, I'd recommend this place without hesitation. It's so well known that you may hit a bit of a wait during peak hours, but the taste makes the wait totally worth it.
Three house-made kimchis: the owner's pride

The hidden kicker at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is the kimchi, made with real care in-house. You get scallion kimchi, mustard leaf kimchi, and altari radish kimchi, and the owner is so proud of them that they're sold separately too. My personal favorite was the scallion kimchi!! Wrapping beef gopchang in scallion kimchi is heaven.

Tangy and packed with umami, it's a match made in heaven with beef gopchang, which can otherwise get a bit rich.
Beef gopchang 19,000 won and makchang 20,000 won: how they tasted

- Beef gopchang - ₩19,000
- Beef daechang - ₩19,000
- Beef makchang - ₩20,000
- For dessert, there's kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice and anchovy noodles!

Finally, the main dish arrived haha. True to a Sindang-dong beef gopchang specialty restaurant, the intestines were packed full of savory fat with no gaps.

Dip it deep into the special sauce that comes with it, and the savory flavor spreads through your whole mouth — you can't help but smile.
They grill chives, mung bean sprouts, potato, and various kimchis right on the plate along with the meat, so the vegetables add extra flavor and give the texture more depth. True to a Sindang-dong favorite, there's zero funky smell and it's clean-tasting, so you never get tired of eating it.

How does Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang compare with the Wangsimni gopchang alley?
In the end, we got happily tipsy and added on more gopchang and makchang. The Wangsimni gopchang alley is famous too and people go there often, but honestly the prices can feel a bit much sometimes. Compared to that, Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang lets you enjoy good-quality hanwoo (Korean beef) at a reasonable price, which is exactly why it becomes a regular spot.
Wrap the makchang, browning nicely on the grill, in kimchi and you get a clean finish. If you're looking for a Sindang-dong gopchang restaurant that nails both value and taste, don't overthink it, just go. This is a strongly recommended regular spot you won't regret.
Final verdict on Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang in Sindang-dong
The gopchang had zero funky smell, was savory and chewy, and I kept reaching for more. The makchang had a great texture too, and it was fun picking through the different bites — the portion was more generous than I expected, which was satisfying! The side dishes that came with it paired well with the gopchang, and the seasoning overall was spot on. The staff were kind too, so I could eat comfortably, and I think it's worth a visit if you love gopchang. Next time I want to try the other menu items haha.
