Team dinner for 4 at a Seocho burger restaurant: Bas Burger Jamwon

In short

Bas Burger Jamwon Branch is a handmade burger restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Nonhyeon Station in Seocho, Seoul. After work, four coworkers shared a Double Bacon Cheeseburger set, a Bas Burger set and two single Bas Burgers, and since James Gam (potato chips) are unlimited for dine-in, they kept refilling from the self-serve bar and topping them with cracked black pepper. The portions were big enough that four full sets weren't needed, making Bas Burger Jamwon Branch a good-value dinner for a group of four.

After work, my coworkers and I were debating what to eat, and we decided — burgers today! 🍔 So we headed to Bas Burger Jamwon Branch, less than a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Nonhyeon Station. I'd ordered delivery from there before, but this was my first time visiting in person, so I went in half excited, half curious.

Do you order at the counter or the outdoor kiosk?

You can order at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch either from the menu board above the counter or from the outdoor kiosk. This is the interior — it's really just the cooking area and counter, with seating located separately off to the side. The menu board is posted big right above the counter so you can see everything at once.

There's also a kiosk outside. You can pick whichever method fits how you want to pay.

Looking at the kiosk, the menu is really varied! There's single, combo, and set options, so it was easy to pick whatever I wanted. There are plenty of side dishes too, so you can put together the exact combination you're craving, haha.

Origin labeling and food allergy chart posted in the store

Also check the origin labeling and food allergy chart, haha. If you have a food allergy, apparently staff will leave out certain ingredients if you tell them ahead of time.

Warm potato chips available from the self-bar

You can just grab it easily from the self-bar. Surprisingly, the chips are warm! My hand kept reaching for more, so you really have to pace yourself...

Seating at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch is set up separately on the left side of the store, with plenty of 4-person tables. This is the seating area, arranged separately on the left side of the store!

Store seating with red-and-white tile and wood tables

The seats are neatly done up with red-and-white tile wood tables, and the space feels surprisingly ample. There are plenty of 4-person tables, so it's good for groups. Of course, solo dining is totally fine too.

What four people ordered: the Double Bacon Cheeseburger set

At Bas Burger Jamwon Branch, the four of us ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger set, a Bas Burger set, and two single Bas Burgers. We figured ordering four full sets would be way too much food, so we balanced it out this way. We got our James Gam on a tray, haha.

Sprinkling on the cracked black pepper from the self-bar made them so much more savory that I just kept eating them, haha. If you're dining in, definitely try the chips with pepper!

Table with the burger sets and singles ordered by four people

We visited as a group of four that day, and here's what our order looked like when it came out.

  • Double Bacon Cheeseburger set
  • Bas Burger set
  • 2 single Bas Burgers

We ordered this way because four full sets seemed like way too much, but honestly the portions were generous enough that we were stuffed with food to spare, so it worked out great value-wise 👍 Budget-friendly too!

Freshly fried Bas Burger fries

The fries were served piping hot, clearly fresh out of the fryer, crispy outside and soft inside!.!

Bas Burger: what's in it

The Bas Burger is the most basic menu item, and as such, it's a can't-go-wrong choice! It has beef patty, a variety of vegetables, and cheese that come together nicely. And the bun is genuinely soft and moist, which was satisfying.

Double Bacon Cheeseburger: how it tasted

The Double Bacon Cheeseburger has two patties with thick bacon and cheese, so when you bite in, the juices come flowing out with it — that's the highlight! Compared to the Bas Burger, it feels heartier and richer.

Table shot of burgers and fries enjoyed for dinner

It was the perfect casual stop for dinner with coworkers after work. If you're dining in, the James Gam (potato chips) plus cracked black pepper combo is something I'd definitely repeat on a return visit. If you're looking for burgers for dinner near Nonhyeon or Sinsa Station, I recommend it!
