Sindang market bar for a second round: bulgogi Doritos at Jjeojeoseu

After dinner near Sindang Jungang Market with friends, we were trying to figure out where to go for round two — and that's how we ended up at Jjeojeoseu Sindang Jungang Market Main Branch! The four of us were already full from dinner, so instead of a big feast, we wanted somewhere for a draft beer and something simple to nibble on. This place was exactly right, haha.

The space itself has this hip vibe that fits right in with the atmosphere of Sindang Jungang Market, so it was nice for a casual drink with friends. It wasn't too quiet either, which made it easy to chat with a group over food. Is it called Jjeojeoseu (지져스) because it's in Sindang? Kind of cute and clever, I think — haha!

Where is Jjeojeoseu in Sindang Jungang Market, and what is it like?

Jjeojeoseu sits toward the inner part of Sindang Jungang Market, so it's an easy stop while wandering through the market. The overall vibe is hip and casual — fine for a date, but it also worked well for us dropping by with friends for a second-round beer.

The weather's been great lately, so it was the perfect night for outdoor seating!!! Some people were already eating at the outdoor tables :) The interior is mostly a silver-and-red color combo, which gives it a kitschy, trendy feel.

The statue out front and the objects scattered inside! They suit the name Jjeojeoseu and stick in your memory. Pretty cute, right?

Inside there were two 2-seat tables and two 4-seat tables, so six tables total between indoors and outdoors.

Since the four of us had already eaten dinner, instead of ordering a bunch of anju (drinking snacks), we just picked two menu items we wanted.

Bulgogi Doritos, 13,000 won: the sharing plate you crack open with a spoon

The first thing we ordered was the bulgogi Doritos! The name felt both familiar and strange at the same time, so I was curious — and it turned out to be a great beer snack.

They told us you're supposed to crack it open with a spoon, haha. The crunchy nacho-like Doritos chips topped with bulgogi flavor gave it a salty, savory kick that kept us reaching for more. Even though we'd already had dinner, it went down surprisingly well with beer! Haha.

It's less of a heavy meal and more of a share-one-plate-among-friends kind of dish, which made it especially good for a second-round visit like ours.

Grilled chicken thigh on the hot plate, 13,000 won: soft and served warm

The second dish was the grilled chicken thigh on a hot plate for ₩13,000! As you'd expect from a teppan-style spot, it stayed nice and warm, and since it's thigh meat, it wasn't dry at all — soft and delicious.

Best of all, at ₩13,000 the price wasn't a burden, which made it easy for the four of us to order two dishes for a second round. Even though we'd already eaten dinner, we kept picking at it with our beers and somehow nearly finished the whole thing... haha. It's such a great match with draft beer that I'd order the exact same thing again next time! Totally recommend it!!

Draft beer at Jjeojeoseu, 5,000 won: how big is it and how fizzy?

And for drinks, draft beer! It was ₩5,000 a glass. Isn't ordering a draft beer and picking at snacks while chatting the whole point of a place like this? 🍺 It wasn't a small size, the portion was generous, and the beer tasted really good. The carbonation was great too.

Jjeojeoseu's Sindang branch had reasonable prices overall, and the menu was full of things that work well as drinking snacks — I really liked it! If you're near Sindang Jungang Market having dinner with friends and looking for somewhere to go for round two, I'd strongly recommend this place. If you're arriving already full like we were, ordering about two anju with draft beer is just the right amount.

They also have plenty of other menu items, like a Mexican platter and snack wraps, so it could work as a full meal spot too :) You get a real taste of the lively energy unique to Sindang Jungang Market, and the space itself is hip enough for a casual drink.
