Sweet shrimp tartare vs black pork carpaccio at Plot, Sindang bar
In short
Plot is a cocktail and wine bar near Sindang Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Sweet shrimp tartare, black pork carpaccio, and aglio olio linguine were tested alongside an Amaro Montenegro and a pistachio cocktail, and all three dishes earned five stars. It's a good pick for a blind date or an anniversary where a quiet, atmospheric spot matters.

On weekends (Saturday, Sunday) it opens 1 hour earlier, and last order is the same every day: 4:30 AM.

Phone reservations are possible. There was no wait on a weekend evening, but I'd still recommend calling ahead~
Who is this good for
- Second dates
- After a blind date
- Friend gatherings
- Not for parents
- Not for solo dining
- ₩20,000–₩30,000 per person
Vibe: quiet, upscale, casual wine, blind dates, dates, anniversaries

It's in a mixed-use commercial building, but it stands out easily since it's right next to the white coin laundry.

The penguin seems to be the main mascot. The short-sleeve T-shirt merch is cute too haha. Any place with its own merch feels like the owner really puts effort into menu development.

Bar seats or a table — which is better?
Since it's a cocktail bar, there's real fun in sitting at the bar and watching the drinks get made. If it's just the two of you, I'd recommend the bar seats. If there are more of you, there are several 4-person tables too.
Every table has its own lighting, which sets a nice mood. In the evening it's pleasantly dim.
There's a floor-to-ceiling window with a tree view. On a cool autumn evening, it's a great place to bring people you like.
Amaro is an Italian aperitif or digestif. It's said to be light, but the ABV is actually over 10%. I think people call it 'light' because the flavor feels lighter than the alcohol content suggests. I'd been recommended Montenegro among amaros before, so I finally tried it.
Quick take on everything we ordered
Sweet shrimp tartare, ₩12,000. Okay… write this down!!! Sweet shrimp tartare ..heart heart.. ((SO SO GOOD))
Black pork carpaccio, ₩15,000. ((My companion's favorite dish))
Aglio olio linguine, ₩16,000. We hadn't had dinner so we ordered pasta to actually eat, and ㅠ it was so good..

Pre-meal pistachios
They give you pistachios before the meal. I already love these anyway, and they were just as good as expected haha. Cracking the shells can be tough on your nails if you're a lady, so if your boyfriend or a guy you're seeing cracks them for you, that'll score points haha.

Black pork carpaccio, ₩15,000
The black pork carpaccio comes with pork jowl, scallions, bronze fennel, yuzu-cho, and miso (?). ㅠ The chilled pork jowl topped with scallions and that green sauce is such an incredible flavor combo~ Such a good memory haha. My companion's favorite dish!
Black pork carpaccio (₩15,000) — rating ★★★★★
- Multiple sauces combine to enhance the pork jowl's flavor
- The scallion is the kick
- Pairs well with wine and cocktails

Aglio olio linguine, ₩16,000
Pasta made with Rustichella linguine, garlic confit, and Parmigiano Reggiano~ A flavor I'd never have known if I hadn't ordered it, but nicely balanced, rich, and satisfying as a meal. It especially paired well with the Amaro Montenegro.
Aglio olio linguine (₩16,000) — rating ★★★★★
- Not overly aromatic
- A bit rich and creamy but not too heavy
- Not greasy, so easy to finish

Sweet shrimp tartare, ₩12,000
At the end, we wanted a bit more and debated, then ordered the sweet shrimp tartare. ((A flavor I'd never have known if I hadn't ordered it ㅠ I wouldn't even have known what I was missing)) Highly recommend. Definitely order this, it's so good ㅠ
Piled onto crispy seaweed chips with diced cucumber and sweet shrimp… honestly… so much umami~ The sauce on the sweet shrimp is the key, though I have no idea what it is.
Sweet shrimp tartare (₩12,000) — rating ★★★★★
- Highly recommend for the umami
- Great when you're full but still want a little more, or as an appetizer
- ㅠ I want to eat this again.

Amaro Montenegro and the pistachio cocktail
Amaro Montenegro, commonly had as an Italian aperitif or digestif! One of Plot's strengths is that when you order a cocktail or liquor, the staff gives you good recommendations and explains exactly what it is.
I wanted something balanced — not too bitter, not too sweet, with just a hint of sweetness. It didn't 100% match what I wanted, but among the amaros I'd been curious to try, this is the one they recommended.

Haha, you should definitely try amaro~
And now, the star of the show. The pistachio cocktail, which you could call the main event. A great harmony of nuttiness, sweetness, and alcohol.

Ahh~ I'll definitely visit Plot again, and I'll order the Montenegro and pistachio cocktail again too.
We also got a glass of sparkling wine on the side.
Everything we ordered — cleared plates.

The texture of the tables and chairs.. black walls with gray tables.
