Euljiro burger spot with corn salad and wedge fries: Daily Fix Euljiro

With a free weekend, I went out for a walk around downtown Seoul. The weather was great, and after wandering the streets I got hungry and went looking for a burger place I'd heard good things about nearby.

It's known as an authentic American-style burger spot run by a Michelin-trained chef, so my expectations were sky-high before I even walked in.

It's super convenient to reach by subway. The location sits right along the Euljiro 1-ga / City Hall / Myeongdong restaurant line, making it perfect to fold into a date course. It's also a good stop for anyone strolling around Cheonggyecheon or exploring Gwanghwamun.

Inside Daily Fix Euljiro: a New York diner look

Walking into Daily Fix Euljiro felt like stepping into a moody diner in the middle of New York. The stylish lighting paired with the music gave off that hip American feel, straight through.

The tables were spaced well apart and the seats were cushy, so we could chat comfortably through the whole meal.

This is the place a popular YouTuber's broadcast dubbed the 'Jjeuyang burger' for its jaw-dropping size — seeing it in person before we'd even ordered was already putting a smile on my face.

Each table has its own tablet for browsing the menu and ordering, which made things easy.

We ordered a pastrami sandwich, a chicken burger set, and a corn salad on the side.

Is the pastrami sandwich worth it?

The pastrami sandwich is stacked generously with brisket that's been carefully cured and smoked, layer after layer.

Between the golden, chewy ciabatta, you get bite after bite of meat, and the deep smoky aroma and savory flavor filling your mouth were easily the highlight.

Chicken burger set with wedge fries

Daily Fix Euljiro's chicken burger stands out for its thick chicken thigh patty — crispy outside, juicy inside.

It's topped with a spicy-tangy seasoned coleslaw that cuts right through the richness.

This was the standout menu item, two thumbs up.

The hefty wedge-style fries that come with the set have a great contrast between the fluffy interior and the crispy fried exterior with every bite.

Corn salad and unlimited soda refills

Billed as a reinterpretation of New York's 'crack corn' style, the corn salad has a great balance of popping corn kernels and sweet-salty seasoning — a perfect palate cleanser.

The soda refills are unlimited, so we got to enjoy something cold and fizzy all through the meal.
