Walking into Kosi Gyodae Branch, the first thing that caught my eye was the big window. Sunlight poured in through it, making the whole space feel brighter and more comfortable during the day.

What's on the menu at Kosi Gyodae Branch

Fresh loin tonkatsu 11,500 won and kake udon 9,000 won
Since this place specializes in both tonkatsu and udon, I tried both. The combo of crispy tonkatsu with warm kake udon made for a really satisfying meal.

Half-and-half fresh loin tonkatsu: how it tastes

The first thing I tried was the fresh pork loin tonkatsu. The moment it arrived, what caught my eye was the golden-brown breading and the thick-cut slices of cutlet.

Taking a bite, the outside was crispy and the meat inside was tender. The breading wasn't overly thick either, so the balance with the meat was good. I'd gone looking for a good tonkatsu spot near Gyodae, and after this bite I felt like I'd found the right place.
Why tonkatsu and kake udon work together

The other dish I ordered was the warm kake udon. Kosi uses fresh noodles made in the sanuki style, and after tasting them, I noticed they didn't get soggy easily and had a nice springy bite.
Slurping chewy noodles in warm broth was great, and taking a sip of broth between bites of tonkatsu felt warm and balanced. I'd originally gone just for the tonkatsu, but adding the kake udon made the meal that much more filling. I'd love to order both together again haha
Service at Kosi Gyodae Branch

The food was delicious, but what really made me remember Kosi Gyodae Branch fondly was the owner and staff. They were so warm and attentive throughout the meal that it felt like more than just a quick bite — it was a genuinely happy meal.

Even the best food can leave a lukewarm memory if the service falls flat, but here it was the opposite — the kindness made the food taste twice as good. That's why, among tonkatsu spots near Gyodae, I'd especially recommend this one to anyone who values a comfortable atmosphere alongside good taste.
Who should eat at Kosi Gyodae Branch

I'd recommend this to anyone near Gyodae Station wanting to enjoy tonkatsu and udon together. It's an easy, satisfying meal whether you're a Gyodae office worker on lunch break or on a weekend date.

When I visited, I also saw families eating together, so it seemed like a solid spot for a family meal out too. Especially if friendly service matters to you, Kosi Gyodae Branch is likely to stick in your memory as a particularly pleasant meal.
