I had an errand in Pangyo, so I visited Eight Years Pangyo, which has built up a reputation as a great brunch spot in the area. Eight Years is a place where you can enjoy both café drinks and meals, making it nice for brunch or a light meal, but it was also a good Pangyo spot for lingering over coffee. The owner, who has 13 years of experience as a barista, runs the café, so the coffee was good. They also say they use fresh ingredients brought in from Garak Market, so it was a Pangyo restaurant I could enjoy with confidence.

A spacious interior and outdoor terrace atmosphere

The restaurant was spacious, with cute little accessories throughout and an exotic-looking interior that stood out. Overall, it had a bright, appealing atmosphere that felt both warm and distinctive. Even the fans were not an ordinary color. The tables were also fairly well spaced, so I could chat comfortably in what felt like an independent space without worrying about the tables beside us.

There was an outdoor terrace in particular, and a cool breeze was blowing, so plenty of people were eating out there. It made me think they had made really good use of the space. Once the weather gets cooler, I think there may be more people enjoying their meals on the terrace than indoors. It would be a lovely setting for a date, and it also seemed like a good place to visit with family or friends.

Kiosk ordering and a varied brunch menu

Because it runs as both a café and restaurant, there were people having only coffee, but most guests seemed to be enjoying a meal as we were. There was a wide selection, including brunch dishes, sandwiches, pasta, salads, and chicken vegetable stew, so it was nice to have plenty of choices depending on your taste. Ordering at the kiosk was convenient, and blankets and high chairs were set out beside it, so thoughtful touches for guests could be felt throughout. It was early when I visited, but there were already many customers, so the staff all looked busy.

The garlic oil pasta came with Eight Years' house-made special sauce, plenty of large shrimp, and a variety of vegetables, so it felt like a healthier pasta than a typical oil pasta. It was also slightly spicy, making it a pasta I kept reaching for.

Bulgogi ciabatta sandwich cut for easy eating

The bulgogi ciabatta sandwich was delicious, with beef bulgogi seasoning that was just sweet enough and fresh vegetables inside. The soft cheese and jalapeños went nicely together, giving it a savory richness that I liked. When ordering, they asked whether we wanted it cut into two or four pieces, so it arrived conveniently cut for us to eat.

Light chicken vegetable stew to eat by the spoonful

The chicken vegetable stew had a subtle herbal aroma. The chicken breast was cut into easy-to-eat pieces, and butter-roasted vegetables came with it, making it mild and light—nice to eat by the spoonful like a soup.

With a varied food menu and a bright, comfortable atmosphere, I recommend Eight Years Pangyo as a Pangyo brunch spot to visit not only for dates but also with family or friends. It was a Pangyo restaurant where you can enjoy brunch, a full meal, and coffee all at once, with a spacious, relaxed, cute interior and an atmospheric outdoor terrace.
