Aged sashimi platter and clam-scallop soup for two: Daegang, Songpa
In short
Daegang is an aged sashimi bar (숙성회) on Songni-dan-gil in Songpa, Seoul, just steps from Seokchon Lake. Two of us shared the mixed aged sashimi platter and a clam-scallop soup with added knife-cut noodles, and loved the salmon, engawa, flounder, red seabream and thinly sliced sekkoshi, plus the spicy-savory broth. With a wide outdoor terrace and bar-style dachi seating, it's a solid pick if you're after a good-atmosphere bar in Jamsil.

Today's post is about Daegang, a bar and restaurant on Songni-dan-gil! I suddenly craved aged sashimi (숙성회), and it turns out this place is famous for it on Songni-dan-gil?.. So I rushed over! Here's the full review✨

Where on Songni-dan-gil? Right by Seokchon Lake
Daegang sits practically right by Seokchon Lake. So it's perfect to stop by while out on a date around Songni-dan-gil! It's within 10 minutes on foot from Jamsil, Seokchon, and Songpanaru stations. With three stations all nearby, the accessibility is great too!?

Here's what the outside looks like! There's a huge outdoor terrace set up. Perfect for enjoying in this kind of weather,,🍂

The sign was easy to spot.

Order by QR code — a drinks menu with even homemade infused liquor
You order via the QR code at your seat, and the menu shows up like this. It's got photos so it's easy to browse!! From raw shrimp sashimi and aged sashimi to soups and all kinds of grilled dishes,,🥹
And here's the drinks menu. The alcohol lineup was so varied too — wine, highballs, traditional liquors and more! This is the first bar I've seen that even sells homemade infused liquor,.👀
Since Daegang is known for its aged sashimi, I ordered that plus one soup dish.
Mixed aged sashimi platter — just right for two

I went back and forth with the special mixed platter but ended up ordering this one. Since there were two of us and I wanted to try other dishes too, I went with this!

The mix of salmon, engawa (flatfish fin meat), flounder, red seabream and more was so good,, and in the middle there was even sekkoshi (thinly sliced small fish sashimi)! Perfect portion for two people to enjoy alongside other dishes💗

Seaweed was provided free too, so we wrapped it up nicely into little parcels..! The sashimi was chewy and thick — the best,,
And a shot of soju with sashimi is a must,,🔥

There was also an upside-down bottle option on the menu, and they served it just like that — such a nice touch,,👀👀 Cheers with soju and aged sashimi🍶
Clam-scallop soup + added knife-cut noodles

And then I was craving something soupy, so I ordered the clam-scallop soup! They generously added the knife-cut noodles too haha. It was packed full of clams and scallops..! Seriously great value,,♥️

Adding the noodles filled us up just right? The spicy, refreshing broth was seriously delicious,, if you order sashimi here, you have to try this too🥹

Self-serve bar, terrace, and dachi seating atmosphere
There's also a self-serve bar you can use freely. Chojang (vinegar-chili sauce), soy sauce, seaweed, tableware — it's all there!

This is the vibe inside! From regular tables to dachi bar seating,,♥️ there's a variety of seating prepared, and the lighting is dim enough to make it perfect for drinking on a date!

There's even a review event..! They said you can get a glass of Gyeongju Beopju, something you don't often come across. Join in and give it a try,,😵💫😵💫
Daegang — where you can enjoy the outdoor terrace on Songni-dan-gil, and the aged sashimi and other dishes were all so delicious. If you're looking for a good-atmosphere restaurant/bar in Jamsil, I fully recommend it! Now that the weather's cooling down, let's all go grab a drink at Daegang,,🩶
