On a weekday, my husband and I went to Songridan-gil for a relaxed date, something we hadn't done in a while. We'd already had our first round of dinner elsewhere and were looking for somewhere light to have a snack and drinks, when Daegang caught our eye — it's been buzzing around as a go-to spot for aged sashimi near Jamsil, so we naturally wandered in.

A cool evening, the Songridan-gil terrace vibe
Evenings have gotten noticeably cooler lately, and outdoor terrace seating (yajang) has been popping up all over the streets around here. Daegang was one of the spots running one too.

The moment we stepped outside, the atmosphere was really nice. Soft lighting mixed with a cool breeze gave it that romantic outdoor-drinking feeling so particular to Jamsil terraces — perfect for a date.

Interior vibe and seating
We took a seat at the bar counter inside. The seating setup was varied, which I liked — besides the bar counter, there were tables for larger groups too, so it works for group get-togethers, solo drinking,

or a quiet date like ours — no pressure either way. That range made me think Daegang is a versatile go-to spot for aged sashimi near Jamsil, good for all kinds of occasions.

QR code ordering
The ordering system here was unique — you scan the QR code placed on each table and order directly, no need to flag down staff, which made things really simple.

Especially during the busy evening hours on the Songridan-gil terrace, this QR ordering system seemed to cut down wait times noticeably, which made the whole experience even better.
What we ordered — the signature aged sashimi
For the main, we ordered the house specialty here, the aged sashimi (sukseonghoe), and it came out looking absolutely delicious even before we touched it.

What I appreciated most was that they didn't just give us soy sauce — they set us up with ssamjang and chojang too, so we could mix and match to our taste, which felt very tailored to Korean palates. The sashimi had that distinctive chewy-yet-soft texture, and between dipping it in different sauces, we cleared the plate in no time.

And of course, aged sashimi calls for a drink. My husband and I each had a light drink and soaked up the cool night breeze. Drinking outdoors, with that open-air feeling, has a different charm than drinking indoors.

That romantic atmosphere gave me the distinct impression this is a place where you can really feel the Jamsil terrace vibe. Looking at the menu, I saw grilled chicken listed as another popular dish. Unfortunately we were still full from our first round of dinner and couldn't order it this time, but I'd love to come back and try it next time. The menu felt substantial enough to make me want to return — a real go-to spot for aged sashimi near Jamsil.

Final verdict — good for a second-round drink or date?
If you're planning a trip to Songridan-gil, or looking for somewhere light for a second-round drink or a date, I'd strongly recommend Daegang. It nails both the comfortable Songridan-gil terrace atmosphere and fresh, delicious aged sashimi in one place, so our satisfaction after visiting was very high. If you're trying to figure out where to go for an evening date, few spots for aged sashimi near Jamsil pull off both atmosphere and taste this well. Next time, we're planning to come back and finally try the grilled chicken we missed.
