I was craving snack bar food so badly today, and while I was trying to decide where to go, I saw a post about a place that gives huge portions and ran straight there — Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch! I got the combo set to go, and it was clean and so filling. Let me tell you all about it!

What comes in the Hyeonseon Combo Set, and how fast is it ready?

The menu ranged from single items to set menus to instant menus — so many options ෆෆ I ordered the Hyeonseon Combo Set (2.5) 🥹 and got it to go.

It came out really fast!!! It was ready so quickly I was startled

Here's what's in the Hyeonseon Combo Set! Tteokbokki, odeng, fried snacks, sundae (blood sausage), and mini gimbap — such a solid lineup! And the portions were huge too ෆෆ

Wheat-flour tteokbokki that stays chewy, with three spice levels

I loved that you could choose mild, medium, or spicy for the tteokbokki

The thick, rich sauce with that old-school tteokbokki feel — even though the rice cakes were wheat-based, they were still nice and chewy, I liked it a lot 👍

There were also plenty of fried snack options — sweet potato, squid, vegetable, kimmari, mandu — so it was fun picking through them all

Assorted fried snacks including sweet potato, squid, and kimmari

Liver and lung piled high enough to hide the sundae

Look at this sundae — is this portion for real ㅠㅠ They loaded it with so much liver and lungs that you could barely even see the sundae. Places like this aren't common at all, so amazing. The liver and lungs were chewy too, with no gamy smell at all. I dipped them in salt sometimes, and in the broth other times, depending on my mood

Plate of sundae piled high with liver and lungs

The sundae itself was chewy too, and dipped in salt it was salty and nutty and so good

Mini gimbap packed full of filling

Mini gimbap and the odeng broth

The mini gimbap (seaweed rice roll) wasn't skimpy either — it was packed full, and the nutty seaweed flavor plus the clean taste of the fillings came through without being too strong or overpowering

Mini gimbap dipped in tteokbokki sauce

Dipping it deep into the tteokbokki sauce added a spicy kick and made it even more delicious~

Odeng served with broth

The odeng had a springy yet soft texture, and the broth had a mild, savory flavor that seeped in gently — really clean tasting. It was perfect for cleansing my palate in between bites haha
