Seocho specialty café with in-house roasting and bulk beans: Mini Male
In short
Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch is a specialty café in Seocho, Seoul, sitting between Gyodae Station and Seocho Station and roasting its own beans in the shop. On a quiet morning right after opening, the writer and a friend ordered the signature Helsinki Latte, a venti iced latte and an egg tart, and the nutty roasted flavour still came through in the milky lattes. The Helsinki Latte alone is worth a return trip to Mini Male, and the café also takes bulk bean orders for offices.

I went looking for a coffee spot with a friend in Seocho-dong and ended up at Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch. These days even when I go to cafés, it's rare to find a place where the coffee is so good I think “I need to come back here” — but this place won me over the moment I took my first sip.
Especially the signature Helsinki Latte! If this were near my house, I'd honestly want to drink it every single day.
Where is Mini Male Seocho Gyodae, and how is it in the morning?
Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch sits between Gyodae Station and Seocho Station, making it easy to reach for anyone searching for a Seocho café or a Gyodae café. Walking past at lunchtime, I saw it packed with office workers.
I visited not long after opening, though, and the quiet, near-empty store made it even better.

Sitting there in the morning, taking my time over a good cup of coffee — I can't explain why that hour felt so happy. :) The space overall has a clean, polished feel. Clear tables and chairs mixed with metal accents gave it a sleek, no-fuss look, and the music playing suited the mood perfectly.

The staff were friendly too, so I felt good from the moment I walked in.
A Seocho specialty café that roasts its own beans in-house
What impressed me most about Mini Male Seocho Gyodae was that they roast their own beans in-house. There's a large roaster right in the store, so you can even watch the roasting happen. It wasn't roasting when I visited, but just walking in gave me the real sense that this is a place that takes coffee seriously.
And once I actually tasted it, the beans really were delicious. I could really pick up the nutty flavor I love, and even as a latte the coffee flavor didn't get lost — rich yet smooth at the same time! If you love coffee, I'd absolutely recommend this Gyodae specialty café.

Signature Helsinki Latte, venti iced latte and egg tart at Mini Male
My friend and I ordered the signature Helsinki Latte, an iced latte, and an egg tart.

The Helsinki Latte is Mini Male's signature menu item, apparently inspired by a latte the owner tried in Helsinki, Finland. It really was that good. Calling it my favorite latte of all time barely covers it.

The deep, nutty richness of the espresso blended so well with the smooth, rich milk that one sip in, I thought, “this is delicious!”
What I especially loved was that it wasn't just a sweet signature latte — you could really taste the coffee's own nutty flavor coming through. It was the first time coffee gave me an actual dopamine rush.
My friend's iced latte was tasty too, and she ordered the large size so there was plenty to drink. We got the venti size and wow, it was genuinely huge lol. But bigger turned out to be better, haha.
If you love lattes, the Helsinki Latte here is one you absolutely have to try.
Egg tarts, scones and cookies: the bakery at this Seocho café
We also ordered an egg tart to go with the coffee. Mini Male's bakery case isn't the type with a huge, flashy display of options.
Instead, it felt like they kept just the essentials — the things you'd actually want to eat — and I liked that. From egg tarts to scones and cookies, they have bakery items that pair well with coffee, so I'd recommend it as a Seocho café bakery.

The egg tart we ate was a nice light pairing next to the coffee. Honestly I wasn't expecting much from the dessert, but it was tasty.
They also sell matcha latte and milk tea products, so next time I want to try some other menu items too.
Buying whole beans and placing bulk office orders
Off to one side of the store, I noticed a variety of beans for sale, and it looks like bulk orders for offices or groups are also possible. My husband's company happens to need coffee sometime soon, so next time I'm planning to buy beans here in bulk.
Since I tasted the coffee myself and found the beans genuinely nutty and delicious, I think it'd make a great gift or something to share around the office. If you're looking for a Gyodae café, this is somewhere I'd want to go back to. Seriously, for real 😍😍
Is Mini Male worth it for coffee near Gyodae Station?
Showing up right at opening time, sitting in a quiet café with a friend, taking it slow over coffee, eating a good egg tart, and even buying a Helsinki Latte to take home — it doesn't sound like much, but moments like this genuinely made me happy. :)
Good atmosphere, good music, friendly staff, and — most important of all — genuinely delicious coffee. If you're searching for a Seocho café, a Gyodae café, or a Gyodae specialty coffee spot, definitely visit Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch. And if you're truly serious about coffee? You have to go.
I think I'll be going back mostly for the Helsinki Latte. :)
