Where is Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch, and what are the hours?
- 🕑 Daily 11:00–21:00 (closed Mondays)
- ✅️ 3 minutes from Majeon Station Exit 1
- 📍 Parking available

Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch, a Majeon Station favorite, is easiest to reach from Exit 1. It's not far from the station and you can park right in front, so accessibility was great.

This area has a cluster of good restaurants, so I've come here often for tacos or Chinese food, but Gyeomson Donkatsu looked so spacious and clean that I got curious and came for dinner!
Inside Gyeomson Donkatsu: bar seats for solo diners, high chairs for families
As you can see, the inside of Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch is spacious and comfortable. We visited around 18:00 on a weekday, a relatively quiet time, but by the time we left, most tables were full.

You could tell a lot of thought went into the interior, and the atmosphere was great. Reservations are available too, so if you'd like a more relaxed visit, I'd recommend booking ahead.

Overall it has a nice, atmospheric feel that would work well for a date, and there are bar tables, so solo dining is fine too. In fact, more people were dining alone than I expected. There are also high chairs, so it seemed like a good place for a family meal.
What we ordered: special sirloin katsu 17,000 won and cheese katsu 15,000 won

Here's the menu at Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch — since it's known as a great katsu spot in Geomdan, everything looked delicious and it was hard to choose. We ended up ordering the special sirloin katsu (₩17,000) and the cheese katsu (₩15,000).

There was even a guide on how to enjoy the katsu, which I read while waiting. There's a variety of sauces to dip the katsu in — wasabi, pink salt, sauce, curry — so it was nice being able to try different combinations.

By the way, if you participate in the review event, you get a free drink, so give it a try.
Which cut is the 17,000-won special sirloin katsu?

When our special sirloin katsu and cheese katsu arrived, I was surprised by how huge the tray underneath was. Pickled onions, diced radish kimchi, various sauces, salad, soup, rice, curry — the whole spread was excellent. Even adult men could eat quite well and feel full.

The special sirloin katsu (₩17,000) is a sirloin cut that includes gabrisal (pork skirt meat), which is apparently only available in small quantities. As you can see, each piece was huge, and the ratio of lean meat to fat was just right, giving it a nutty flavor without being greasy.

First, as instructed, I tried it dipped only in pink salt, and it definitely felt juicier than a regular sirloin katsu. With just the right amount of fat, it had a soft, nutty flavor that really lived up to the name 'special' sirloin katsu.

Katsu sauce, pink salt, wasabi and curry on the side
Honestly, when I go for katsu I usually like eating it with wasabi or pink salt, but at Gyeomson Donkatsu the katsu sauce was more delicious than I expected. I assumed it would be a regular sauce, but it had a slight spicy kick — maybe from mustard — and it was topped with something like breadcrumbs, which made it an unexpectedly nice touch. Topping it with wasabi was tasty too, but surprisingly this sauce was so good we ate a lot of it together.

Best of all, a small bowl of curry came along too, so you could turn it into curry katsu and eat it with rice — very filling by the end.
Cheese katsu, 15,000 won: 6 pieces and how the cheese tastes

The cheese katsu (₩15,000) is made with thinly sliced sirloin stuffed generously with premium mozzarella cheese. It was packed with cheese, and the cheesy aroma was intense from the moment it arrived — it made me curious right away.

I usually love cheese and order cheese katsu whenever I get katsu — normally it comes in 4 pieces, but here it was 6, which felt like great value. Most of all, the cheese filled my mouth with a rich, nutty flavor that I loved.

Personally, I enjoyed the cheese katsu most when eaten with wasabi. The cheese is packed all the way through, so cheese lovers will especially enjoy it, and the meat itself was tender, blending well together. If you're looking for a Majeon Station restaurant or a katsu spot in Geomdan, I'd recommend visiting Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch!
