Yeonsu-dong sashimi restaurant 19,900-won lunch set with albap

I went on a trip to Incheon and shared my accommodation pick last time — when you're near the sea, you've got to go to an Incheon sashimi restaurant, haha! So I looked around and found a well-known spot in Yeonsu-dong. I heard the lunch special set was great value, so I decided to check it out.

This Yeonsu-dong sashimi restaurant has no break time and no closed days. Naver Reservation was available, so I booked ahead before visiting. I went at 11am on a weekday, and by around noon the place had really filled up.

The restaurant is quite spacious. With lots of tables and seats, it's no problem even for group meals. You can order right from your table.

The self-serve bar: make-your-own pancakes, ice cream and coffee

At the self bar in Veteran General Fish Market Yeonsu Branch, you can freely help yourself to side dishes. Extra tableware and all the side dishes are available. And one of the perks of this place — self-serve pancakes!

And for dessert, there's ice cream and coffee too. Talk about service!!

The menu and our order: the 19,900-won Lunch Special Sashimi Set [Jin]

Here's the menu board. Shrimp, which is in season right now, comes as sashimi or salt-grilled. There's a wide variety of sashimi, and for lunch specials there are set-menu options, a couple set, a family set, and more. I ordered the Lunch Special Sashimi Set [Jin] ₩19,900 × 2.

We also made ourselves a self-serve pancake to go with it.

What comes with the 19,900-won Lunch Special Sashimi Set [Jin]?

The Lunch Special Sashimi Set [Jin] we ordered came with sashimi, sushi, fried food, spicy fish stew, albap, a basic side dish set, grilled saury, corn, and 3 kinds of seafood.

The spread really felt generous. For ₩19,900 you get a whole set like this, so you can enjoy fresh sashimi alongside a variety of other dishes.

Four kinds of sashimi, sushi, abalone and fried food

There were 4 kinds of sashimi. Some chewy, some soft, all fresh and delicious.

Pollack roe came out too, so you could pair it to taste. There were two kinds of sushi, and the salmon was soft and delicious. The flying fish roe mixed with sashimi had a great savory flavor, and the abalone sashimi was nice and crunchy. And the fried food was crispy! Loved it, haha.

Maeuntang (spicy fish stew) comes with the set

Spicy fish stew is included as standard..😮 And it wasn't playing around, haha. Big portion, nice and spicy — a must at any sashimi restaurant.

We ate it while it bubbled away on the burner. The spicy flavor was genuinely delicious. Eating it alongside the sashimi and sushi was fantastic!!

The grilled saury

Here's the grilled saury. I love grilled fish, so I was thrilled it was part of the set. No fishy smell at all, soft and tasty.

There was so much to eat that I kept debating what to try first, haha. Everything was delicious and memorable. You'd think a ₩19,900 lunch special set might skimp on quality, but not at all! The spread was generous and tasty. Plus, seaweed soup came along too.

The albap I was most looking forward to

And the albap (rice with flying fish roe) I was most looking forward to! Since it was lunchtime I wanted rice, and it was included in the set. It's a mini-sized albap — careful, it's hot! — packed with flying fish roe, seaweed flakes, and rice. Ridiculously good.

Dessert ice cream and the review event

For the final dessert, we finished off with ice cream — strawberry, banana, and chocolate flavors available. A perfect ending ><

Is the 19,900-won lunch set at Veteran worth it?

For ₩19,900, this Yeonsu-dong sashimi restaurant 'Veteran General Fish Market Yeonsu Branch' had a generous spread and great value. Not just the composition and price, but the quality was great too. I'd want to come back again with my boyfriend on our next trip! If you're looking for a good sashimi restaurant in Incheon, I highly recommend it.
