Jungmun BBQ where staff grill your black pork and shrimp: Oreumak
In short
Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch is a dry-aged black pork restaurant near the Jungmun Tourist Complex in Seogwipo, Jeju. Visiting with a baby, the writer ordered the dry-aged black pork half portion, and a staff member grilled the thick cuts from start to finish, so the meat was eaten at its best even while minding the baby. With a playroom, a baby chair and a Pororo tray, Oreumak Garden made for a satisfying meal for children and adults alike.

Jeju Island means black pork! I know a lot of people are looking for a good black pork restaurant in Jungmun, so let me share my review of Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch, where I had a really satisfying meal near Jungmun :)

Where is Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch, and what does it offer?

The moment I walked in, what caught my eye was the row of Blue Ribbon stickers lined up at the entrance. How many Blue Ribbons are there even..! This place must have kept its Blue Ribbon status for years. I heard that's really impressive, so my expectations for the taste shot up before I even ate a bite :)

Once inside, the restaurant was spacious and open, so it never felt cramped, and the tables were spaced generously enough that it felt like a good environment to visit with a baby.

Is Oreumak Garden good with a baby? Playroom and Pororo tray
There's a playroom on one side of Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch. And when you're eating out with a baby, the playroom is the biggest lifesaver, right! There was even a little ride-on car and a rocking horse the baby loved, so she had a blast playing while the meat grilled.
On top of that, they kindly provided a baby chair as well as dishes just for kids, and I really felt the consideration for families visiting together. The Pororo tray made the baby especially happy :)

Side dishes, complimentary steamed egg and gang-doenjang dip
The signature menu item was the dry-aged black pork, and we ordered the half portion.

All the side dishes were clean and simple, and paired perfectly with the meat — honestly, to me they tasted just like my mom's cooking!

The complimentary gangdoenjang (thick soybean paste dip) and the fluffy steamed egg that came standard were especially delicious. And the steamed egg wasn't even an extra charge — it was complimentary!

The gangdoenjang was great spooned onto lettuce wraps, and just as good mixed straight into rice — a total rice thief.

What does the dry-aged black pork half portion taste like?
The signature dish of Oreumak Garden in Jungmun! A review of the dry-aged black pork half portion
Finally, the main dish we'd been waiting for — the black pork — arrived at our table.

On one side of the grill, shrimp and garlic were cooking too!

You can really tell this is top-grade Jeju black pork — look at the thickness of that meat, wow!
Honestly, meat this thick is easy to burn if you try grilling it yourself, and it takes forever to cook through, but the staff grilled it carefully from start to finish, getting it to just the right doneness, which made things so much easier for us.

Especially when you're visiting with a baby like me, you're already so busy taking care of her, so not having to grill the meat myself was such a relief — and since they sealed in the juices while grilling, we got to taste it right at its very best :)

That glossy color on the shrimp..! Sizzling away, it looked like it was going to be so good.

I dipped the first piece the staff had grilled for us in just a little salt and tried it. Wow, the moment I bit into it, I couldn't help but let out a gasp! It was so good, I could've cried.

With regular fresh meat, the juice runs out as you chew, but this dry-aged black pork felt like the flavor and umami had condensed into the meat itself through the aging process — dense and concentrated!

No gamey smell at all, savory and chewy — completely deserving of that Blue Ribbon! I kept wrapping it up in lettuce and popping it into my mouth one after another haha.

My husband picked the bones clean. He's been to a lot of black pork restaurants, and he said this place is genuinely delicious!

Meanwhile, the shrimp we'd set aside had turned golden brown, so we peeled the shells and ate them whole in one bite. Every bit as good as the meat, honestly.

Naengmyeon to finish: is Oreumak Garden worth a return visit?
After enjoying the meat, we finished off with the dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles), scraping the bowl clean down to the last bite!
There's a reason this place earned so many Blue Ribbons — everything from the quality of the meat to the side dishes to the dessert naengmyeon was perfect at Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch. On top of that, being right in the Jungmun Tourist Complex made it super convenient to stop by while out and about. With the playroom and baby dishes fully set up, both the kids and the adults left satisfied. I'd definitely go back!
