Large ocean-view Gangneung café for dirty Oreo cake and crungi: Baegya
In short
Baegya Coffee is a large ocean-view bakery café right in front of Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung, with seating on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors plus a rooftop. From a 3rd-floor seat at Baegya Coffee I had a café latte with crungi (a flattened croissant crisp), condensed milk pie and dirty Oreo cake while watching the sea, and the tables were set far apart. Baegya Coffee is a Gangneung ocean-view café where finding a seat is less of a worry even on weekends.

Baegya Coffee is a large ocean-view bakery café right on Haean-ro, directly in front of Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung. If you've come to the sea, you have to hit up an ocean-view café in Gangneung! I ended up having a cup of coffee that felt deeper than usual while staring out at the wide-open blue sea.

It's a large Gangneung café with 1st, 2nd, 3rd floors and a rooftop, so even on a crowded weekend or holiday you can probably still find a seat — worth remembering if you're planning a family trip to Gangneung or a group outing.

Right in front of the sea at Sageunjin Beach, this large Gangneung bakery was perfect for zoning out and watching the waves.

There were plenty of seats on the rooftop too, and the sea view from outside was just gorgeous.

Parking at Baegya Coffee and the first look at the building
Baegya Coffee is a massive building standing right in front of Sageunjin Beach, so it caught my eye from far away. You can park right in front of the building, or follow the side of the building up to the dedicated 2nd-floor parking lot.
With no buildings blocking the view, you get a clear look at the East Sea from pretty much any seat — a real ocean-view café in Gangneung.
The inside was just as spacious and pleasant as the huge exterior suggested.
Right as you walk in, the clean, hygienic bakery display case catches your eye, haha.

I went to the big bakery location right by Sageunjin Beach, but they've apparently opened one at Gangneung Station too! In one corner there was a microwave for warming up bread, plus a water dispenser, cups, and tissues.

Baegya Coffee coffee and drink prices
Americano ₩5,500 Café latte ₩5,800/₩6,300 Vanilla latte ₩6,000/₩6,500 Cappuccino ₩6,000/₩6,500 Affogato ₩6,800
I had a latte and it passed the test — nutty and rich. They even have my favorite Sanghamokjang ice cream.
Besides coffee, there's a whole range of drinks: strawberry, matcha, and chocolate non-coffee lattes, peach iced tea, ades, teas, and traditional drinks like homemade jujube tea and a 7-grain misugaru latte.

The bakery lineup was varied too, from meal breads to desserts and cakes — a mouthwatering display that had this bread-lover's eyes locked in!
I saw a lot of families visiting this ocean-view café in Gangneung, and there was a good variety of juices for kids too.

Seats at Baegya Coffee from the 1st floor to the rooftop
At Baegya Coffee, you order and return trays for coffee, drinks, and bakery items on the 1st floor, and there are tables and seats set up from the 1st floor all the way through the 2nd, 3rd floors, and the rooftop.
The rooftop is a no-kids zone.
The exterior of Baegya Coffee already looked huge, and sure enough it was a large Gangneung café with plenty of seating inside too.

Here's the 1st floor.

There's also group seating for larger parties to sit together.

Up to the 2nd floor now. There's an elevator too, and it even has a little shelf inside for setting down your tray — so convenient!

The 2nd floor also had floor-to-ceiling windows right at the sea, so you could properly enjoy the ocean view.
Crungi, condensed milk pie and dirty Oreo cake from a 3rd-floor sea-view seat
At Baegya Coffee, the ocean view gets better the higher you go, so I settled on the 3rd floor. The view was too good. This is exactly the kind of ocean view you travel to Gangneung for.

The nutty, deep coffee flavor was so good I wanted to bring Baegya Coffee's café latte home to my neighborhood, alongside crispy sweet crungi and condensed milk pie, and a dirty Oreo cake rich enough to fall into. Between the sea-gazing and the caffeine-and-sugar refill, I was thoroughly recharged, haha.

The space between tables was generous too, so it'd be easy to relax even when this large Gangneung café is packed with guests.

Both the coffee and the bread lived up to expectations at this large Gangneung bakery café — I'd love to stop by again next time I'm nearby.

Wrapping up with the ocean view from Sageunjin Beach café~
