Songjeong café with Louis Velvet Cloud milk tea by bus: Suwolgyeonghwa
In short
Suwolgyeonghwa is a traditional tea and dessert café with ocean views, on the 4th floor of a building near Songjeong Beach in Haeundae, Busan. The order came to ₩29,500 — hyeonwolhoji hot tea ₩8,500, Louis Velvet Cloud milk tea (iced) ₩8,000 and a dalbodeure dessert box ₩13,000 — enjoyed at a 4th-floor window looking out over the Songjeong sea, with parking at Songjeong Blue Parking Lot and the 1st-floor piloti. Suwolgyeonghwa has no elevator, so it is a stair climb, but every floor has its own mood and its own restroom, which is reason enough to return.

Today I get to introduce a very special ocean-view café in Busan — Suwolgyeonghwa. It's a coffee shop near Songjeong Beach in Haeundae-gu, and its popularity is genuinely wild. Shall we take a look together?

How to reach Suwolgyeonghwa: parking, buses and the beach train
If you're driving, Songjeong Blue Parking Lot is supported. The 1st-floor piloti parking lot is also available. If the lot is full, you'll need to use a nearby paid alternative lot (not supported).
By public transit, it's a 1-minute walk from the 'KT Songjeong Tower' stop, or a 10-minute walk from the 'Songjeong Beach entrance' stop. By subway, get off at 'Songjeong Station' on the Donghae Line and transfer to bus 185, getting off at 'KT Songjeong Tower.' By the Beach Train, get off at 'Songjeong Station' and walk 8 minutes.
There are 24,000 reviews out there.
The exterior of the place was pretty grand already. Honestly, I was more than a little surprised by the whole coffee-shop-landmark vibe.

Please don't get lost and make sure you find your way properly. There's no elevator, so I had to walk up the stairs.
The 3rd floor: a traditional room where you can hear the waves
3rd floor
Suwolgyeonghwa runs several different themes across its floors, apparently. The café is a space where you can really enjoy coffee, tea, and light snacks properly. As soon as I stepped in, I heard the sound of waves crashing — swoosh, swoosh. It was genuinely fascinating.
There was a round mirror, so of course I quickly checked my appearance, haha.

It's a place full of subtle, mysterious charm, so there was plenty to look at and enjoy.
A moment where both body and mind got a little healing.
There's a strong traditional feel all throughout the shop. Serene energy radiating everywhere, haha.
What is this cozy atmosphere...? Perfect for a date... I want to give it a full five stars without hesitation.
The lighting is dim and soft, but that's not all — the interior itself is impressively clean and pleasant.

Seriously, click click.. my busy fingers on the shutter.
What is the 4th floor of Suwolgyeonghwa like?
4th floor

The owner and all the staff here are kind. Even if you tried to find a flaw, you honestly couldn't!!
Word has already spread all across Busan, so the place gets absolutely packed — but somehow it still manages to stay orderly.
I kept seeing a steady stream of people lining up to come in.

Each floor has its own distinct charm, so there's more than enough reason to come back! Having a restroom on every floor is just one of many things I liked.
There's a piece of pottery tucked in a corner of the shop. My eyes were treated well. It's a great place to go with friends or acquaintances in small groups, and just as good for couples on a sweet date. It's also lovely for family visits and quality time together. Suwolgyeonghwa, the ocean-view café in Busan, is absolutely top-tier.
Suwolgyeonghwa's menu and what we ordered

This is the menu, so please swipe through the slides. The descriptions aren't exactly short and simple — the explanations are pretty detailed, so I ended up taking my time and reading through it all. There's a nice range of traditional Korean drinks too, like ssanghwacha (herbal tea), sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch), and sikhye (sweet rice drink).
Wait, what???? When I tried to pass the menu decision along, all I got back was "whatever's fine." So I read the room and ordered with my best judgment!!

- Hyeonwolhoji HOT tea ₩8,500
- Louis Velvet Cloud milk tea ICE ₩8,000
- Dalbodeure box ₩13,000
- Total ₩29,500
Drinking tea at a window table with the Songjeong sea in view
Wow! Wow! My jaw dropped on its own looking at that Songjeong sea view. A gorgeous panorama stretching wide and open~ I never thought I'd get to see a view like this in my life!! Amazing.
What's a cup of tea sipped while looking at a view like this? It can only be sweet. I had a honey-dripping teatime. Happiness really isn't far away, is it~

It had a rich dark chocolate flavor and I loved it. The sweetness and depth of flavor didn't get tiring at all. It really suited my taste — I nearly gave it a standing ovation.^^
I lifted the warm cup with my pinky up, just the way I was taught in tea ceremony class. Look at me, a well-educated woman... haha. (I've been saving that move for exactly this day... hehe)

What is in the signature dalbodeure dessert box (₩13,000)?
The signature menu item is the Dalbodeure box — the name means "sweet and soft."

I was told 'it's best eaten clockwise.' If you eat it that way, the Korean-style dessert supposedly shows its true colors — but it's not like someone's checking (right?), so I just ate it however I wanted.

Black rice jeungpyeon (fermented rice cake) made from carefully fermented makgeolli, injeolmi (rice cake) skewers with fragrant roasted soybean powder, ganache monaka (wafer sandwich) made with premium French Valrhona chocolate, a sweet whole red bean butter monaka, and neatly baked, crispy-outside-moist-inside gamtae myeongnan (seaweed pollack roe) financiers — genuinely a happy little gift set.

Eating leisurely, nibble by nibble, I caught myself in a full dopamine rush? ^_^ haha..

Yum yum~~ Writing this post and looking back at what hit my taste buds just right, I'm literally drooling...

This whole place was overflowing with nutty flavor.. Everyone, save this location and make a proper day of it on a weekend or holiday.
The chewy texture really stuck with me. It reminded me of chewy sulbbang (fermented rice cake) or gijitteok (steamed rice cake). The portions weren't small either, so I felt very satisfied!

The red bean filling studded with nuts was good enough to make my flat eyes go wide. Nutty and sweet at once. Even after coming home, I still can't get over it. This stuff is seriously addictive..
This place really knows what it's doing. Need I even say more about the taste. No comment necessary.
Since you're already reading this post, let's take a look at the cross-section of this one. Good shot, right? Looks delicious, right?

It's genuinely, truly delicious. You have to add this to your order. No regrets here.^^ This is exactly why it's been picked as a Blue Ribbon spot two years running. It's good enough that I want to keep singing its praises without running out of words!
