Today's post is a review of a Songdo restaurant near Technopark — Songdo sushi, Songdo Japanese food, Sushi Doku The Songdo!

Where is Sushi Doku The Songdo, and what are the hours?
Sushi Doku The Songdo exterior 📍 Location: 2nd floor, Onesta Mall, 157 Songdogukje-daero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea

⏰ Hours: 11 AM to 9 PM, with break time on weekdays from 3 to 5 PM and on weekends from 2:30 to 5 PM!
Even the video looked carefully made, so I filmed a short clip!

Waiting seats fill up 5 minutes before the 11am opening
Sushi Doku The Songdo has a big menu posted right at the waiting seats, which was really convenient! By 10:55 the crowd started pouring in! Now I get why they have so many waiting seats!!
My friend who came with me had already been here about three times, and when I suggested going again she got excited, saying it's genuinely delicious 👍 Sushi Doku The Songdo — already a famous sushi spot among Songdo locals.

What the dining room and seating are like
Inside Sushi Doku The Songdo, there's warm plum tea to drink after your meal near the door, and mouthwash and floss at the counter! Sushi Doku really seems to think about both consideration and convenience!

The interior is quite large but feels cozy thanks to the lighting, and partitions keep tables private so you can eat without conversations spilling over! There are also baby chairs 🐥

The reserved seats also have partition walls, so you can eat even more quietly there!

Plus, it's an open kitchen, so you can trust what you're eating, right?!

What comes in the 25,900 won premium sushi set
Finally, the premium sushi set at ₩25,900 arrived 👏

- Salmon
- Halibut
- Akami (red part of tuna)
- Ikka (squid)
- Red shrimp
- Sea bream
- Snow crab meat
- Sweet shrimp
- Eel
- Ankimo (monkfish liver)

The sides: chawanmushi, udon, salad and karaage
Chawanmushi • udon • salad • karaage & fried shrimp. Inside the chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) there were cocktail shrimp and ginkgo nuts! It's soft with a pudding-like texture. The udon was packed with noodles — for a side dish, that's a serious amount!! Plus there were two cute fish-shaped fish cakes in it!!
The salad has a sesame dressing flavor that's easy for anyone to enjoy! The karaage and fried shrimp are lightly coated in a thick yuzu sauce that's refreshing, and dipping the back half in soy sauce is delicious too! Of course they're great plain as well! They were genuinely plump and full inside 👍

Why the salmon sushi is the signature piece
Sushi Doku The Songdo, a Japanese restaurant in Songdo, is really famous for its salmon sushi!! Thick and long slices of salmon!! Using a traditional aging method, they make salmon sushi that melts softly in your mouth! Thick, generous salmon sushi that fills your mouth — hands down the best! They even sell salmon sashimi separately, which shows how serious they are about salmon!!
They brush the soy sauce on with a dedicated brush, like this~ (I tried hard to capture it on camera haha)

Tasting ankimo maki (monkfish liver roll) for the first time
And this was my first time trying ankimo sushi — it was lightly placed on top of the halibut sushi too, and the ankimo maki came generously piled with ankimo (monkfish liver)! Ankimo is called the foie gras of the sea for its rich, dense flavor, but it wasn't fishy at all — just creaminess spreading through my whole mouth! Getting to try ankimo maki, a premium menu item, at Sushi Doku...! Truly a high-end Japanese restaurant, Sushi Doku The Songdo.
I didn't manage to photograph much, but the sweet shrimp sushi also had a wonderfully springy texture with sweetness that built up the more you chewed 👍 (Too busy eating to take pictures... 🤣)
Best sushi of the set and free parking for 2 hours
There's a reason Sushi Doku The Songdo is such a well-known Songdo restaurant — every type of sushi was delicious, but my personal best picks were the ankimo maki, salmon sushi and sweet shrimp sushi 👍👍👍 Parking is free for 2 hours, so take your time and savor the meal!!
