For extra side dishes, just use the self-serve bar!
Menu and prices at Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch
The menu at Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch is built mostly around sets. There's the Gyeongju-style freshly seasoned beef short rib set, a half-and-half set with short ribs and diced kkotsal, and even a Daehwa Special where you can try all the specialty dishes.

Between the Gyeongju-style freshly seasoned beef short rib set, the half-and-half set with short ribs and diced kkotsal, and the Daehwa Special that lets you try all of Daehwa Sutbul Garden's specialty dishes, the set menu lineup is so varied and generous that we could order right away without much trouble! The side menu lineup looked solid too, so next time I'm definitely trying the sea urchin and yukhoe (raw beef), haha.
The 59,000-won Gyeongju-style seasoned short rib plate, honestly reviewed
Gyeongju-style freshly seasoned beef short rib plate, ₩59,000

Oh my goodness — is it okay for the basic table setting to be this generous?! From the standard side dishes to the accompaniments that perk up your appetite, everything was so varied that mixing and matching combinations was genuinely fun >_< Personally I'm someone who loves a hearty side dish spread at a meat restaurant, and here not only was there variety but the flavor was great too, which made me love it even more... ♥

And finally, the real star of today makes its entrance!
The plate we ordered comes with 500g of Gyeongju-style freshly seasoned beef short ribs plus handmade sausage and chicken gadoni meat! I was worried the portion might be too small, planning to add a side if we ran short, but with the handmade sausage and gadoni meat included, the amount was generous enough for even three people with smaller appetites, haha.

Sizzle sizzle~ Let's grill this up nicely~! haha

Why seasoning the ribs at the table keeps the beef flavor intact
Rather than pre-marinating the short ribs, Daehwa Sutbul Garden apparently mixes the meat lightly with their secret sauce right when you order! Maybe that's why the meat's own distinctive flavor came through so much more clearly, haha. Add in the fun of pairing it with all the different side dishes >_< !

Tortillas, chicken dogani and handmade sausage on the grill
Daehwa Sutbul Garden specially provides tortillas. It was my first time wrapping short ribs in a tortilla, and surprisingly, it worked really well? Haha.
The chicken gadoni meat was quite the special dish too! It had a nice chewy texture, giving it a different charm from the short ribs~ haha. Popping in a piece of chicken gadoni meat between bites of short rib changed up the texture so we never got tired of it and could enjoy something different, haha.

Honestly I didn't expect much from the handmade sausage, but it was surprisingly delicious — I was pleasantly surprised, haha. It felt completely packed inside with a springy texture, so I kept reaching for more, haha.

Kalguksu noodles and red bean injeolmi ice cream come with the set
Did we order the kalguksu separately? Nope... it's included in the set menu, haha. And the portion was really generous too — after finishing the whole short rib plate plus the kalguksu, we both had to tap out saying we couldn't eat another bite... haha. Isn't that a really solid set composition? Haha.

No matter how full you are, there's always room for dessert, right? Hahaha. We couldn't manage more kalguksu, but ice cream? Always welcome >_< The sweet red bean injeolmi ice cream cleaned our palates perfectly for a great finish, haha. Kalguksu, ice cream — the owner's generosity here is really something else ♥
Is the short rib set worth it for two people?
It had been a while since I had beef short ribs, and beef really is good any time... haha. Especially grilled over charcoal, the subtle smoky aroma made it taste even better, haha.
Above all, from the table practically groaning under generous side dishes to dessert at the end, the owner's warm generosity made for an enjoyable stay from start to finish at Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch! Highly recommend it if you're looking for a good restaurant in Janggok-dong :-)
