Seoul Station Japanese restaurant for yakisoba Napolitan and cold soba
In short
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is a gyukatsu-focused Japanese restaurant in the basement of the LG Seoul Station Building, near Seoul Station Exit 10. On a Friday evening, a 10-minute wait led to yakisoba Napolitan and cold soba with fried shrimp instead of gyukatsu, and both the ketchup-based grilled noodles with a hint of smoky char and the ice-chilled buckwheat noodles were satisfying. It's a good spot for a quiet solo meal or a casual meetup near Seoul Station.

I was looking for a place to have a clean Japanese meal near Seoul Station and ended up at Ichigyu. It's in a perfect spot for grabbing a bite before catching a train or meeting someone near Seoul Station!

How long is the wait on a Friday evening?
I visited on a Friday evening and waited about 10 minutes. They use Catch Table for the waitlist, so registering ahead before you arrive would make things easier.

The vibe inside and the mini tabletop grills
The interior is decorated with warm wood tones, giving it an overall calm and cozy feel. Every table has its own mini grill for cooking gyukatsu.

Table review event: what you can get
There was a sign on the table for an ongoing promotion. For the 'pre-review with receipt' event, you ask staff for your receipt after ordering, leave a review by scanning the QR code, and get one crispy fried shrimp per receipt right away. There was also a promo where giving a 5-star rating and saving the place on Naver got you 3 pieces of butter-grilled cheese and 3 pieces of sliced mochi. Apparently the two events can be combined, so if you visit, definitely make sure to grab these extras haha.

I was more in the mood for noodles than gyukatsu, so I ordered cold soba and yakisoba Napolitan.

How was the yakisoba Napolitan?
Hot-plate Napolitan The visuals alone had me drooling 🤤🤤 — a rich ketchup-based sauce topped with a whole thick sausage, sliced ham, and a soft sunny-side-up egg. Big chunks of king oyster mushroom, bell pepper, and onion were mixed throughout, keeping every bite textured. It was sweet and tangy with a slight smoky char that paired really well with the pasta-style noodles. There was also a cabbage salad on the side, which kept it from feeling too heavy all the way through.

Cold soba & fried shrimp: do the noodles get soggy?
Cold soba & fried shrimp Buckwheat noodles and a sprinkle of seaweed flakes come in a broth topped with ice slush. Grated radish, chopped scallion, and wasabi come on the side in small dishes, so you can season it to your taste. The broth wasn't too salty and was refreshingly cool, easy to enjoy without any fuss. Thanks to the ice, the noodles stayed chewy and didn't get soggy even by the last bite. The fried shrimp included in the set was crispy and paired nicely with the soba! It'd be a good pairing alongside something rich like gyukatsu too.

How is it for a solo meal or a meetup near Seoul Station?
Even though it's a gyukatsu specialist, the noodle dishes were clean and satisfying too. The place is quiet and dishes come out neatly plated for solo diners, making it a good option for a solo meal or a casual meetup near Seoul Station. If you visit, be sure to join the table event for extra fried shrimp or cheese haha.
