Seoul Station Japanese restaurant for a parents’ meal: Ichigyu
In short
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, serving gyukatsu and steak sets. We grilled gyukatsu and steak over a tabletop brazier with my parents before their train, and it brought back memories of traveling in Japan. Verdict: a lovely family meal spot before a train from Seoul Station.

Where to find Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch
It’s near Seoul Station, so it’s super convenient before or after taking the train. First, find the LG Building; the entrance to the restaurant area is on the building’s right-hand side. If you can’t find it, go to the front of the LG Building entrance, turn right around, and head left—that’s it!
Opening hours
Outside

It’s right in front as soon as you enter the LG Building restaurant area, so it was easy to find. There was also a board with the signature dishes, which made checking the menu really easy~! I hear weekday lunches have long waits, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to visit then. I went at around 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday and was seated right away without much of a wait.
Inside seating and tabletop braziers

The interior was neat and nice too~! There are lots of seats for two, and tables can be joined for groups of four. Each table gets one tabletop brazier!
What else is on the menu besides gyukatsu?

The restaurant is famous for gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet), but it also has steak and a range of à la carte dishes. There are set menus too, so those who enjoy drinks can make a more economical choice.
Ordering gyukatsu and steak sets
Since it’s known as a great gyukatsu spot, we ordered the gyukatsu. My mom, who isn’t much of a fan of fried food, ordered the steak set.

Ta-da~✨ The sets come with rice, soup, and a simple salad. They also include butter and three kinds of house sauce.

The gyukatsu and steak both looked incredibly good! The portions of meat also felt more generous than at other places.

They can replace the grill plate or the fire on the brazier whenever you need, so feel free to ask!

Oh, and just so you know, three servings of rice came together in one pot like this.

How to grill the meat with butter
Ta-da~✨ Doesn’t it look so delicious?! The butter that comes with the set is nice on top of the meat, but if you melt it on the grill plate before cooking, the meat won’t stick and takes on that rich, buttery flavor 💛 Be sure to coat the grill with butter before cooking!
Recommended dishes for a meal with parents
Gyukatsu goes without saying~~ The meat portion was very generous and delicious. I highly recommend the steak for anyone who doesn’t like fried food!! I only tried the gyukatsu and steak sets on this visit, but reviews say the other à la carte dishes are popular too! Next time, I definitely want to try something else.
I was a little nervous because I’d brought my parents for the meal (what if they said it wasn’t tasty or didn’t like it?), but my worries were for nothing—they enjoyed it so much. It was such a fun meal, reminiscing about our trip to Japan too. Since it’s near Seoul Station, it was perfect for a meal before their train. We had a delicious meal and then sent them off on the train. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good restaurant near Seoul Station, planning a Seoul Station date, or looking for a Seoul Station lunch spot~!
