Korean BBQ by Seoul Forest with grilled veggie garnish: Marblejeong
In short
Marblejeong is a premium 1++ grade Korean beef and pork restaurant on Seongsuil-ro in Seongdong, Seoul. After a walk through Seoul Forest toward Ttukseom Station, the writer ordered Marblejeong's 1++ mixed grill of sirloin, brisket and skirt steak, grilled it alongside king oyster mushrooms, garlic, button mushrooms and asparagus for a lighter plate, then finished with doenjang sul-bap (soybean paste rice). Staff grill every cut at the table, so all you do at Marblejeong is sit and eat.

I'd been craving a proper Korean beef grill for a while, so I went to Marblejeong, a well-known spot near Ttukseom Station. Marblejeong is a premium 1++ grade Korean beef and pork specialist offering a variety of cuts, including select specialty parts, and staff grill everything for you, so it's an easy place to enjoy.
They have everything from a luxurious 1++ Korean beef special course to a budget-friendly lunch set, so it could be worth a lunch visit too.
There are small rooms for 4, 5, or 8 people, as well as private rooms that fit up to 36, so it seemed like a good spot for a company dinner or group gathering. If you're looking for a Korean beef restaurant near Ttukseom or in Seongsu, give Marblejeong a try.

Where is Marblejeong, and is there parking?
Marblejeong is near Ttukseom Station Exit 5 and Seongsu Station Exit 4. I visited after slowly walking over from Seoul Forest.
There's a parking lot right beside the restaurant, so parking was easy. After 6pm, you can also use the Kia Autoq parking lot, which is good to know.

Marblejeong's hall and private rooms: can it take a group?
Marblejeong has a hall that seats up to 56, plus small rooms for 2–4, and rooms for 6, 8, 16, and 20 people, so if you're coming with a group, it's best to book ahead.

What side dishes come with the Korean beef?
The basic side dishes came out neatly arranged — mustard leaf kimchi, pickled scallions, mountain leek (myeongi), gungchae, plus malt salt, fresh wasabi, shiitake horseradish, perilla leaf pesto, and a house special sauce. There was a wide range of things to pair with the beef.

There was also salad, seasoned lettuce, and cool dongchimi (watery radish kimchi), so it was nice to be able to mix and match according to taste.

Which cuts come in Marblejeong's 1++ mixed grill?
I ordered the 1++ mixed grill, which came with sirloin, brisket, and skirt steak. Getting to try several cuts at once was better than sticking to just one.

You could tell at a glance the meat was fresh and high quality — clear marbling, great color throughout. Good-quality meat grilled by an expert meant I just had to sit back and eat.

Sirloin
The sirloin went on the grill first. They grilled it thoroughly on both sides and cut it into bite-sized pieces for us. Soft, nutty flavor came through clearly, and the juices ran out with every chew — you could really feel the satisfaction of eating Korean beef.

The grilled vegetable garnish
King oyster mushroom, garlic, button mushroom, and asparagus were grilled alongside as garnish. Eating only meat can get heavy, but the grilled vegetables kept things light and clean. The chewy, juicy mushrooms and crisp asparagus were great to eat alongside.

Skirt steak
Next was skirt steak, a different kind of appeal from the sirloin. It had a pleasantly chewy texture with a deep, rich meaty aroma that came through more with every bite. Dipping it in fresh wasabi and the house sauce made the skirt steak's distinct flavor come through even more cleanly.

Brisket
Sliced thin so it cooks quickly, the brisket released its nutty aroma the moment it hit the grill and melted in the mouth. With the house special sauce, it cut through any richness and tasted refreshingly different.
Finishing with doenjang sul-bap
After all the meat, I wanted something warm, so I ordered doenjang sul-bap (fermented soybean paste rice soup) too. The rich broth with warm rice was comforting and made for a clean way to end the meal.
Another delicious meal today. That's it for my Marblejeong review — a Korean beef restaurant in Seongsu!
