Fig-season showcase at Sinnonhyeon dessert café: Something About
In short
Something About Coffee is a large dessert café spread over three floors between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. Its showcase was packed with fig-season cakes, and we picked a peach cheesecake and a pineapple cake coconut cookie to go with an iced Americano and a black sesame latte. With a wide dessert lineup and roomy seating, Something About Coffee is an easy recommendation among Gangnam dessert cafés.

Hi, this is Kim Tol. Following yesterday's post, another café recommendation near Gangnam Station!! There are a lot of cafés around Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, but I've honestly never seen one with this many desserts haha. So many varieties, and they're even delicious and the vibe is great too 🥹 With seating up to the 3rd floor, it's really spacious. Here's my honest review of Something About Coffee.

A 3-floor café between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon stations

Something About Coffee sits between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station. It's actually closer to Sinnonhyeon Station! About 5-6 minutes on foot from the station. There are honestly so many cafés around here, and this is one I visit often. With floors 1 through 3, it's a pretty large café!!
White wood-tone interior and seating — order on the 2nd floor

As for the interior vibe, the white wood tones are so clean and pretty — the model example of a nice café. You order on the 2nd floor once you go up, and with seating all the way to the 3rd floor, there were plenty of spots, which I loved. There's also a lot of outdoor seating, and now that the weather's getting nicer, I think you can sit outside and eat now.
Dessert and drink menu: a showcase full of fig-season cakes

In front of the counter, the desserts are displayed like this, and honestly they look like models.. ♥ Everything looked so delicious. There were pound cakes, financiers, egg tarts, cookies, scones — really such a wide variety of desserts.

Besides the baked goods, the showcase fridge was also packed with slice cakes and fruit sando (fruit sandwiches). And since it's fig season right now!! There were so many fig-related cakes haha.

The drink lineup was also amazing !! Beyond the basic drinks, there were so many signature drinks too, like hojicha milk tea, chocolate matcha, black sesame latte, and more.

Check out the basic drink menu here! We visited as two people, and we ordered pineapple coconut cookie / peach cheesecake / iced Americano / black sesame latte.
How did the peach cheesecake and pineapple cake coconut cookie taste?

A shot of the whole spread! Everything was plated so nicely, piece by piece. The iced Americano was tasty and the black sesame latte was said to be super good too.

Peach cheesecake at Something About Coffee
Honestly, at first I picked the fig black sesame cake..? But my friend said we'd already have black sesame overlap, so haha I switched to the peach cheesecake, and I'm glad I did. As a cheesecake lover.. I was so satisfied ♥♥ The sweet, somewhat soft peach paired perfectly with the dense, rich cheesecake. Next time I want to try the black sesame or pistachio cake 🥹

Pineapple cake coconut cookie
This was a type of cookie I'd never seen before, and my friend said it looked good the moment she saw it haha, so she picked it first. But it was actually really good..! On top there seemed to be some kind of apple jam..? and the coconut powder sprinkled on the outside paired really well with the cookie.
Who comes here: dates, first meetups and dessert lovers
Verdict: is Something About Coffee worth a stop in Gangnam?
Enjoyed it so much ~~ officially a dessert spot worth recommending. If you're looking for a place with great desserts or a large café with a nice vibe near Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station, I highly recommend Something About Coffee ♥ Couples seemed to come here a lot for dates, and also for blind dates. Of course, women who love desserts were the most common crowd !! I recommend it as a café to visit near Gangnam Station ><
