Gangnam café for weekend group meetups: Something About Coffee

Such a sunny Saturday!! I went to Something About Coffee, a Gangnam Station café, to meet my high school friends 🩷 This place has great desserts and coffee!! The spacious, comfortable space and cozy interior won me over completely, so I wanted to write about it 🫶

The moment I walked in, the warm, antique wood-tone interior with total Instagram vibes caught my eye 🩷 High ceilings and plenty of seats make it perfect for hanging out and chatting with friends. The window seats with great sunlight are also ideal for selfies and photos :)

What's on the menu at Something About Coffee?

This Sinnonhyeon Station café had a huge variety of both desserts and drinks. The dessert lineup was gorgeous — trendy fruit sandos, cakes, pound cakes, cookies and more :) The drinks caught my eye too with their visuals. We ordered a matcha cream cold brew, iced Americano, Mont Blanc cake and lemon pound cake 🩷 Everything looked so good I had serious trouble deciding haha

Every single dessert showed such care!!! The lineup was smartly paired with coffee too :)

I even took a video so I can remember to try other menu items next time haha. Lots of other customers were also agonizing over which dessert to pick!! I'd been wondering where to go for a Gangnam Station café and I think it was such a smart choice, hehe.

How was the matcha cream cold brew?

The matcha cream cold brew was totally my type visually. The matcha aroma blending with the smooth cold brew was such a mood-lifting flavor!! Cold brew has that distinctly luxurious, smooth taste that made me finally understand why people drink it haha. As for the iced Americano — no comment needed 🤭🤭

Lemon pound cake and Mont Blanc cake together

The refreshing lemon pound cake and sweet, nutty Mont Blanc cake were both so good my eyes widened haha. The toppings on the cakes were so pretty too ☺️🩷

• Lemon pound cake: A thin, crisp glaze topped with fresh lemon slices and apple mint leaves made it look so refreshing from the start. The outside was sweet and crisp, the inside soft and moist — the texture was a work of art! 🍋 That pleasant tartness kept it from getting boring, right to the last bite.
• Mont Blanc cake: The Mont Blanc cake we ordered together had layers of chestnut cream stacked up with a whole rich chestnut on top for outstanding nuttiness. The combination of the dense, moist sponge and the cream underneath makes it a must for any dessert lover.

What is the terrace seating like on a weekend?

This Gangnam Station café, Something About Coffee, has both indoor space and a terrace!! Since it's getting breezy and cool these days, we sat on the terrace!! It'll only get cooler once autumn arrives, so it should be even better for the terrace :)

Is Something About Coffee near Sinnonhyeon Station worth it for a group?

With a spacious layout from the 1st to the 3rd floor, a variety of drinks and desserts, and terrace seating available, it was such a pleasant experience :) The cozy, clean interior also makes it a perfect spot for a Sinnonhyeon date, a Gangnam Station date, or catching up with friends 🩷

Tips before you visit Something About Coffee

• On weekends or during peak hours (2–5 PM), the place gets crowded, so I'd recommend grabbing a seat on the upper floors first before ordering on the 1st floor!
• Cakes and drinks are also available for takeout, just so you know ☺️
