Sushi Maiu is a chain with several branches, and the original main branch is in Goturmall at Express Bus Terminal Station. I usually go to the main branch, but since there's one near Seolleung Station too, I decided to visit.

It's less than 5 minutes on foot from Exit 5 of Seolleung Station, I think!

They're currently running a 13th anniversary event with beer and soju at ₩2,500..!

Solo dining bar seats, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the overall vibe
The interior was spacious and clean. There are bar seats for comfortable solo dining, and hall tables for groups of several people. The floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides gave a really open, airy feeling!
The conveyor-belt sushi rotating on the rail was in small portions, and it seemed like it was made fresh the moment it was ordered!

Plate prices and how to order
At Sushi Maiu, prices differ by plate color, and there are so many options, including lunch specials and premium set menus. After much deliberation, I ordered the Popular BEST3 (15p)!

- Green plate ₩2,100
- Purple plate ₩2,500
- Blue plate ₩3,400
- Red plate ₩4,100
- Black plate ₩4,800
- Brown plate ₩5,300
- Gray plate ₩6,500
- Yellow plate ₩7,500

I ordered the set, but you can also check off the sushi you want on this order sheet and hand it to a staff member, and they'll bring it to you! Being able to pick and choose like this is one of the perks of conveyor-belt sushi, I think!

When you order sushi, a small udon comes out, and pickled radish (rakkyo) and soy sauce with wasabi are set out so you can help yourself.

This little udon warming up my stomach was so nice.

What's in the ₩30,000 Popular BEST3 (15p) set
My Popular BEST3 order arrived! It's a premium set made up of tuna belly, tuna, freshwater eel, tako (octopus), beef, soy-marinated shrimp, and various white fish sushi!

For ₩30,000, the composition is quite generous.

White fish, tuna, and tuna belly
It starts off with various white fish. Clean and chewy, I could really feel the texture of raw fish.

Next up, tuna! I loved the clean yet subtly rich flavor of the tuna. Soft and moist, it was perfect eaten together with the rice.
It had a melt-in-your-mouth softness with the distinctive savory, deep flavor of tuna. As expected, even a single piece of tuna belly feels luxurious!

Beef sushi and tako wasabi sushi
The beef sushi had a chewy yet tender texture. The subtle meaty aroma that came through with each bite was great too, and it had a charm quite different from typical beef sushi. If you like raw beef, this is worth trying at least once!

The tako wasabi sushi, with its springy texture and sharp wasabi kick, was appealing! The added zing gave it a different charm from the milder sushi, and the chewy, springy texture held up bite after bite — I'd recommend this one if you like sushi with good texture!
The tastiest one: soy-marinated shrimp sushi
Springy shrimp with a savory, salty soy sauce seasoning — this one really nailed the umami! The bouncy texture of the shrimp paired so well with its sweet-salty flavor.

This was personally my favorite! The shrimp cradling the rice was so big that I took a photo of the side view too, haha.

Freshwater eel sushi
The thickly cut eel topped with sweet sauce had a salty-sweet flavor that was really appetizing. The soft, moist texture unique to eel was great too. Overall, the sushi quality and menu composition here were satisfying.
In summary
Being able to pick and order exactly the sushi I wanted made it easy to eat only what I felt like, and the Popular BEST3 set came with a good variety all together, making it great for sampling different flavors. If you want to enjoy a clean, varied sushi meal near Seolleung Station, I'd recommend Sushi Maiu's Popular BEST3 set :)
