Chodang Tofu Village café for three signature menus: Coffee Dripper

While exploring Chodang Tofu Village on a trip to Gangneung, I went looking for a nice-looking café and ended up at Coffee Dripper 🤎 Gangneung has so many famous cafés that it was hard to choose, but Coffee Dripper caught my eye because it has signature menu items beyond the usual café fare!

The whole space at Coffee Dripper has a warm, wood-toned feel that made it comfortable to sit in, and there's a terrace too, so on a nice day it seems great to enjoy your coffee outside.

What kind of café is Coffee Dripper?

Gangneung Dripper has been a roastery café hand-dripping coffee from beans roasted in-house since 2012, based in Gyodong, Gangneung. It's kept a classic coffee style going in the same spot for over a decade, and reopened in May 2026 with a new space and menu. It's a 10-minute walk from Gangmun Beach, sits inside Chodang Tofu Village, and fits naturally into a Gangneung travel route. It's also close to Gangneung Station. The signature menus are the dripper latte (white almond mocha), a refined version of a decade-old signature; the choco cone latte, where the cone becomes the cup; coffee soft serve made with house-pulled espresso; tofu pudding made with Chodang tofu from Gangneung; pine forest matcha latte, capturing Gangneung's pine forest; and Sunset lemonade, capturing Gangneung's sunset. They also serve croffin desserts (croissant baked like a muffin, in black sesame, vanilla, and chocolate) and sell their own roasted beans. With parking for around 13 cars and group seating available, they'll serve travelers looking for a Gangneung café a good cup of coffee.

The weather was so nice that we sat on Coffee Dripper's outdoor terrace. The vibe was so good.

Cone choco latte: the drink served in a cone

The cone choco latte grabbed my attention purely on looks 🍦 True to its name, it's a unique drink that uses a cone as the cup, and the moment I saw it I just had to take photos. The sweet choco latte paired with the nutty, crunchy cone made it feel more like a dessert 💗 Drinking the coffee while eating the cone alongside it was fun and felt like a special treat — it really stuck with me.

How does the dripper latte taste?

The first thing I was curious about was the dripper latte ☕️ It's a white almond mocha-style latte, and the soft, nutty flavor was really appealing ✨ It had a somewhat different flavor from a regular café latte, so it felt fresh. It's on the sweet side!

Chodang tofu pudding at Coffee Dripper

For dessert, the Chodang tofu pudding is a must-try. Since we were in Chodang-dong in Gangneung, it was fun that there was a menu item using Chodang tofu. Despite the name, it doesn't taste strongly like tofu — it has a soft, jiggly, pudding-like texture that eats well as a dessert.

Is Coffee Dripper worth a stop in Gangneung?

With menu items like the dripper latte and cone choco latte that you don't easily find elsewhere, this place seems well suited to anyone looking for a special café while traveling in Gangneung. If you want signature drinks you can only get here, rather than the usual americano or latte common around Gangneung, I'd recommend Coffee Dripper ☕️🤎 The cone choco latte stuck with me the most — it's fun to look at and sweet to taste, making it the perfect menu item for a Gangneung travel photo!
