A Sindang restaurant favorite, an oden bar A Sindang-dong bar with great vibes Sindang Oden Club
So many great bars have been popping up in Sindang-dong lately, so I went for a light after-work drink at a Sindang restaurant favorite, the oden bar 'Sindang Oden Club.' These days Sindang-dong is being called 'Hip-dang-dong' and it's genuinely happening right now.
With the cool evening air on my skin, I headed to Sindang Oden Club, an oden bar tucked in the alley across from Sindang Jungang Market, for a light drink.
Sindang Oden Club: hours, location and what to expect

What does Sindang Oden Club look like inside?

Sindang Oden Club, a Sindang restaurant favorite oden bar, had an open, airy feel where indoor and outdoor spaces flowed naturally into each other.

The whole front of the store is a glass folding door, and with it thrown wide open, you barely notice the boundary between inside and outside. Near the entrance there's a tall bar table and chairs, so it's a Sindang bar layout that's also great for enjoying oden and drinks while watching the street outside.

The orange-toned sign and soft lighting in particular create a warm atmosphere, and the space feels clean yet cozy. Overall it was a clean, modern-feeling Sindang-dong bar built around an oden bar concept.

Inside, there's a bar table at the center along with a dachi-style counter where you pick your own oden, plus the oden bar table — it looked like a good setup for solo drinking or a casual drink with a friend.

How do the oden broth and yogurt lemon shrimp taste?
As soon as we sat down, we ordered a cold Asahi draft beer first. The cold, crisp taste felt like it washed away all the fatigue from the workday.

For oden, you pick whichever type you want yourself. There's a dedicated mug for holding your oden, so it was easy to serve yourself as much as you wanted.

Prices varied depending on the shape of the skewer, ranging from about ₩2,000 to ₩3,000 to ₩4,000, and the system was simply to pick whatever oden you wanted and bring it over.
The oden itself was tasty, but honestly, for me, the broth was the real star. It's a warm, rich broth, the kind where you eat a piece of oden and then take a sip of broth, back and forth.
The suji skewer and yubu skewer are meant to be dipped in the broth to warm up before eating.

The yogurt lemon shrimp we ordered as a side had plump, fresh shrimp with a tangy-sweet yogurt sauce and a squeeze of lemon on top — it cleared the palate and worked really well as a beer snack.

Soy sauce and dadaegi (spicy chili paste) were also set out. We were told the dadaegi can be stirred into the broth or used separately as a dipping sauce.
